This was a trip with my wife and daughter. We were flying standby with no guarantee that all of us (or any of us) would have a seat. I contacted the hotel ahead of our stay asking to allow my wife to checkin even if I'm not present. They accepted, and confirmed they added a note to my reservation. Upon arrival, you guessed it, they refused to let my wife checkin and insisted that I had to be there. Fortunately, all of us had made the flight and I was only 20 minutes behind as I was running an errand. But I can't imagine how pissed I would have been if I hadn't boarded the flight and they'd leave my wife and daughter unable to checkin for a room that we had already paid in full. So yeah, it's a pretty serious issue so I'm taking away two stars for that reason. The rest was fine, just that checkin issue. What's the point of contacting the hotel well in advance to make arrangements and the hotel agreeing to the requests for it to be ignored or denied upon arrival? I wasted my time and they wasted theirs in all those pre-arrival comunications, and had I not made the flight the consequences would have been very bad.

Had a really lovely stay at the Grandi! Our corner suite was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast each morning, and relaxed at the spa every night. The hotel staff was very accommodating and communicative. Looking forward to coming back and staying here again!

This is a nice hotel in a good location, a bit quieter location, but still within 15 min walk to many attractions shops and restaurants. I wouldn't call it a luxury hotel but it is very nice, professional and clean with friendly staff. I would recommend.

Can’t fault this hotel! We had an amazing time in Reykjavik and the hotel is in perfect location to explore. The rooms were clean and the spa is also excellent, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and we would definitely stay here again!!

We stayed at Grandi by Centre Hotels for 5 nights and from start to finish it was fantastic. The staff were super helpful and friendly and helped with any questions we had. The room was lovely. We had a balcony, no furniture but we made do with what we had. When we arrived to the room I was greeted with a note and a selection on mini cakes as it was my birthday- a nice touch. The spa was fab and relaxing. Breakfast had a great choice and staff were on hand to replenish when things were running low. The hotel location was within walking distance from the harbour and a few shops. Down town bars are within walking distance too. I would highly recommend this hotel and would like to thank all of the staff for making us feel so welcome.
