We had a a balcony and partial harbour view. Clean rooms. Nice common areas. Diverse breakfast options with healthy choices. We enjoyed the spa twice. My only complaint is that parking was only free in a dirt lot down the street. Parking on the street near the hotel was relatively expensive. We found parking in the dirt lot every night, but sometimes it was the last spot available. In summer, I'll bet that parking here would be difficult to find.

This hotel has an industrial feel to the room decor which is a bit stark and possibly not to everyone’s taste. There is a huge building site outside and the room has no net curtains so you’re either overlooked by workmen or in the dark. But that’s the negatives. The location is great. It’s a short walk to the centre or to the old dock area where there are shops and restaurants and various attractions. Plenty of restaurants within a very short walk. You can park nearby on residential streets for free. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The spa area is free to use (book a slot at reception or by email ahead of time) and really surprisingly nice. We went twice and really enjoyed it. The common areas of the hotel have a nice mid century design. If you’re travelling in a group you can hang out there. The breakfast was absolutely fine but not amazing in my opinion and the room is a bit dark because they have to keep the curtains closed due to the building site. Staff are lovely and enjoy chatting about your plans and places they recommend visiting. All in all I would definitely stay here again. It was great value for money for us.

Our first room had a really bad smell in the bathroom and it seems like this is not uncommon. However, the staff were amazing and moved us immediately to another room which had no smell. The rooms are basic and the door to the bathroom doesn't offer much privacy. It's a shame because the communal areas are so much nicer, especially the spa which is excellent!

While our three day stay in Reykjavik Grandi was very good hotel-wise, my Phantom crypto account was hacked by a hacker in this hotel's lobby and $475 CAD was stolen, and my tokens individually sent to the crypto hacker's wallet. We will NEVER stay at this hotel again! Their WiFi is insecure.
