Royal Decameron - now Wyndham

The grounds, pool and beach were lovely. We’ve stayed here numerous times over the past 10 years but the resort is not as well run as previous visits. Rooms are dated and worn - no repairs or renovations to the rooms in at least 10 years. Track for patio doors rusted out and extremely difficult to open. The 4 staff standing at each entrance to the buffet restaurant (doing nothing) do not enforce the rule of guests required to wear clothing and shoes in the restaurant. Bathing suits with no decent coverups and bare feet noted frequently. Buffet food was packed up 45 minutes before breakfast was over and a few times many food items ran out. Many staff were not very friendly and we felt a bit like they thought we were an inconvenience. However other staff were wonderful and friendly.

The check in process is not very efficient and some of the personnel are not service oriented. The pools are dirty, the hotel does not have enough towels and the internal logistics are not very efficient when experiencing issues. It is almost impossible to make reservations to the restaurants. The food is OK, but limited in terms of options.

Overall a good resort, we enjoyed our stay and had lots of fun. One of the top resorts I’ve been to, and I have been to many. Pros: - Food was great, even at the buffets. Zero complaints when it comes to variety and taste. - The beach was beautiful. The beach front lined the whole resort. - We were in the All Inclusive Plus section and the room was very spacious and nice with a wonderful view of the ocean. - The resort was well maintained and clean. Cons: - Only 1 swim up bar and it is All Inclusive Plus ONLY. If you’re in regular all inclusive you will not have access to a swim up bar and you are not aloud to bring drinks in the other pools unless it’s a tumbler with a lid. - Hard to find a pool chair and/or chair at the beach, even in the All Inclusive Plus section. Everything was always occupied, especially the limited amount of shade covered seating. Other things to note are, there is very limited English speaking staff (Spanish) AND guests (Spanish and French mostly). This was ok for us, we seemed to find our way and communicate fine with some use of google translate lol. Lots of stairs and walking (big resort), this again was fine for us as well as the exercise was appreciated.

For sure no any Canadian enjoy it in this place no of staff can not speak English language, 6 hours from city of Panama and Expedia not told you about this service Facility so old no towels food was samples and same as day after day no any available extra service event Transport from Panama 6 hour far you have paying 240 USD so poor bad experience in whole my life

We liked the beach. Nothing in the mini fridge even though their brochure states it is restocked daily with beer, soda and water. No help with luggage at check in. Lots and lots of steps ...no elevators. Staff booking tours were horrible to work with. We did not get a receipt so accidentally boarded the wrong tour bus and had to pay double. The Decameron tour people refused to refund our payment even though we didnt use their tour group.

I will not recommend this place is full of bugs and no clean and the staff are not friendly the place is charging extra money for a VIP and is the worse service than the regular plan. This is a beautiful location. Clean beaches and pools. Very pleasant and enjoyable during low season of July. The food is ok. Where to eat is sometimes confusing. Getting a reservation in the restaurants at night was nearly impossible. They really need to have a different system instead of getting up at 6 am on my vacation to make a reservation. There are rule boards but not for everything that is expected of a guest. However the staff was very kind when explaining rules we broke. The rooms need to be renovated. The hill can be difficult to climb for some.

Extremely disappointed. The "all" inclusive was very limited. Some pools were closed all together and the others we "closed for maintenance" on random schedules so you never really knew where you could swim unless you just followed all the people. Then those pools and bars would be overly crowded. Samr with the one restaurants. Only one buffet offered a frenzied meal time. The other dining options required reservations the day before. Be sure to set you're alarm to wake up early to get a table for dinner. They say you can call at 7am but still by 8 no one would answer. The "entertainment" was kareoke. The power went out which at least shut down the loud party music at 1am. From arrival to departure i never felt welcome or safe. It definitely is not US resident friendly. Complete waste of money.
