I was traveling from Astoria to Rockaway because of a family matter, unfortunately I was unaware that the office at the Silver Sands closed at 9PM after receiving a message from the office indicating arrival after 9PM, the office would be closed,no other information relayed on the message.Fortunately, I arrived 15 minutes before the office closed, staff person rude on arrival for the inconvenience, handed me my keys quickly,indicating front/backdoor,no paperwork copy after I showed identification and signed for Rm112 ground floor. The room was old,furniture chipped,no phone,carpet smelled moldy,also unaware guests could see inside the room passing by if curtains were open.The bathroom appeared to have the only new furnishing,tub,commode, floor chipped with paint stains. I spoke to the manager when I left regarding the room,she gave no apologize for the inconvenience/concern I spoke about,simply shrugged her shoulders, said nothing. I will not recommend Silver Sands in Rockaway Beach. I will complain to Expedia handling the reservation and indicating that “very good” on their website is false, not worth the price.
