The number of staff and the level of training are both seriously inadequate.
1. For the vast majority of the time, there is a long queue at the front desk. Although there is a QR code for self check-in, after scanning it we still had to wait another 30 minutes, and only after paying €42 in city tax could we complete the process.
2. The luggage storage area is completely unsupervised, with no labels or identification showing whose luggage is whose — extremely unsafe.
3. When we returned to the hostel to pick up our luggage and get the room card, we waited for another 30mins again. Probably more than 30mins. The staff insisted that we had to pay an additional price difference for the room? Even though we had already paid the full amount through Expedia long ago, and there was no mention of this when we paid the city tax in the morning. We asked the staff multiple times, but they couldn’t explain the reason for the charge and only said that if we didn’t pay, we wouldn’t get the room or a refund of the city tax.
4. We stayed two nights in total and had requested daily room cleaning both nights. Forget about actual cleaning — they didn’t even remove the trash, nor did they provide new trash bags.
5. There was a large spider web on our room window, and the bedsheets had unexplained stains.
In summary, while the location is very close to the train station, I strongly do not recommend this hostel unless you don’t mind extremely poor service quality and being ripped off.
