Close to the Alamo

We loved how close it was to the Alamo and the Riverwalk. We ate twice at the Crockett Tavern and enjoyed our meals.

The location was excellent! It is basically overlooking the Alamo and a short walk to the Riverwalk which has shopping and many restaurants and bars.

Great San Antonio Hotel in perfect location to Riverwalk and Alamo Plaza. Great Bar/Restaurant and Coffee shop onsite. Alamo is less than 5 minute walk and Riverwalk less than 10 minutes walk away with plenty of food and shopping options. Will go there again.

There is no on-site self-parking. Valet only at a rate of $45 per day! The nearest parking garage also charges $25 per day. You need to make sure you include this cost when comparing hotels!

Check in was smooth, till in the morning and they can't find your information? Tub took about 2 hours to drain so the next person could shower. No breakfast. Convenient to river walk, Alamo and tower of the Americas.

This hotel has a lot of decor that shows the heritage of the area and a lot of information about Davy Crockett. The coffee shop is good. Loved the wood paneling in the elevators.

Nice location but not very quiet

Lovely historic hotel. Located next door to the Alamo and close to the riverwalk. Nice little pool area. There is construction at the Alamo which starts at 6 am and all day/ night freeway noise. Don’t bother with valet parking as they just put your car in the public lot beside the hotel. Hotel bathroom is small and dated. The shelf above the sink is so low the tap is obstructed and water only comes out in no a trickle.

Old and dirty, overall not a good experience

When I chose to stay at this hotel, I was aware that it was a historic property. However, the level of dirt in the bathtub and on the carpet exceeded my expectations. I was too exhausted to complain when I checked in. Next day, I decided to move to the Hyatt. By the way, when I checked out, I mentioned the bathroom issue to the front desk, and their response was simply, "This is an old hotel." As if being an old hotel means cleanliness should be overlooked. I’ve previously stayed at the Menger Hotel across the street, which is also an old hotel, but it was much cleaner. Besides the cleanliness issues, there was construction nearby that started about 7 a.m., creating a lot of noise. Overall, this was a disappointing experience.
