Good but thin walls and connecting rooms?

The hotel is very nice, the room was clean. We were right by the elevator and the walls are THIN, we were out in a connecting room and there were people in the other room, we could hear everything from their room the hall way and the elevator. Didn’t get much sleep. We didn’t ask for a connection room, not sure if that’s standard there but we definitely hated that, that’s has never happened before. I would suggest asking for a room away from the elevator and a non connecting room.
