In Laurissilva Forest, Casa do Lanço -Carvalho

Casa do Lanço is part of a 25,000m2 vineyard estate in a transition zone between the Laurissilva forest and the farmland of São Vicente. The terraced vineyards are home to the Tinta Negra and Verdelho grape varieties, which produce the famous Madeira wine.

The property is part of a group of houses where you'll find several gardens with centenary trees, the most notable of which is a large oak tree over 250 years old. According to several historians, this oak was one of the first trees planted on Madeira Island. Various species endemic to the Laurissilva such as tis, vinháticos, barbusanos and loureiros can be found on the property.
The house is simply decorated, country and functional, living up to its history but with every comfort for guests. The property has three bedrooms, two with double beds and one with twin beds, and all the rooms have en-suite bathrooms. The spacious living room has a fireplace where you can enjoy the conviviality of your family or friends. Next to the house is an annex, an old hayloft that has been completely renovated to accommodate two more people.
Inside the property you can enjoy the shared swimming pool and sauna, a stroll along the stream and the gardens or the yard outside, where you can have breakfast (not included), made every morning by the caretaker. As well as breakfast, you can order the famous "rosquilha" bread or the "caldo da romaria". During your stay, you can take the opportunity to take part in the viticulture process at harvest time or buy the wines available at the house.

AREA
The house is located in the north of the island, more precisely in Rosário, a parish in the municipality of São Vicente. As it is in a more isolated area, there are no shops in the vicinity of the property. A ten-minute drive from the town of São Vicente, you'll find local shops, restaurants, a supermarket and a pharmacy.
In the vicinity of the house you have access to several trails and levadas, where you can take the opportunity to stroll and explore our fantastic island on foot.
If you want to find other places or activities, the city of Funchal is a 45-minute drive away.

GETTING AROUND
The best option to get to the property will be the transfer. Ask us to book one with our local partners. It is cheaper than the taxis you find at the airport.
If you rent a car, any navigation app can easily find the address.

ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property.

INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer questions. We do our best to reply all requests. We also have an app for guests with all the important information about the property and other useful information for your stay.

OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests are required to present a valid ID. (passport or identity card).
- Check-in hour must be scheduled in advance. If it is not scheduled within a maximum of 48 hours before, guests will be subject to the availability of our team.
- All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also put a baby cot, a high chair and a baby bath if needed, but you should request. There are a first aid kit, extinguishers and fire blanket in the property.

ATTENTION
Please note that the property does not have a laundry room. However, there is the possibility of requesting a laundry service, carried out by our cleaning team, at an extra cost and paid in cash directly to them. For more details or to arrange this service, please contact us during your stay.

RULES
We want you to feel at home. We do not ask for more than respect for neighbours and care for the property, in addition to not smoking inside the house.
