I had a reservation from which I was forced to cancel due to a severe ice storm where I reside, the state was under an official state of emergency, and flights out of here were canceled, making it impossible and unsafe to travel.
I canceled two days before check-in and requested a refund or at least a credit, fully explaining the circumstances. I also provided screenshots showing my flight was canceled, along with information that is publicly available confirming the state of emergency and hazardous weather conditions.
Despite clear evidence of a natural disaster and circumstances completely beyond my control, they refused to offer any refund or credit.
This response is extremely disappointing and feels inhumane. Denying any accommodation during a declared emergency shows a lack of compassion and concern for customer safety, and instead reflects a company that prioritizes profit over people.
I would not recommend booking with a company that shows this level of disregard for customers during emergencies.
