The staff were amazing! The hotel is beautiful! And accommodating is an understatement. They have shuttle service and will hold your bags so you can enjoy Seward before check in and after checkout. 5 stars all around!

The staff were accommodating, however when the train arrives at 11.30 and the check in time is 4 pm and it is very often wet, it can be a long wait. The room was comfortable even though a bit too warm. The bar and restaurant were very good. Over all a positive and enjoyable stay. Great hot water.

Excellent stay

On a return visit to Seward, AK I decided to stay at the Hotel Seward, as this is where I had stayed on my first trip to Seward in 1980. At that time, it was called the New Seward Hotel. I stayed in the historic section of the hotel and was very pleased to find that it had retained its quaint appearance and style. The hallway was filled with historic photos of old Seward and my room made me feel that I had stepped back into the early 1900s. The entire place was very well kept and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Sarah at the front desk. I lived in Seward from 1993 to 2012 and I will surely be staying at the Hotel Seward on my next trip back.

great convenient place to stay in Seward

I liked the charm of the hotel and the staff were great and it was very clean and the price was reasonable and the location was terrific with easy walking distance of the stores, restaurants, water front, and sealife center, The check in was rocky because the room wasn't ready for an hour and 45 min-3:45-5:30. It worked out ok because I was able to leave my bags and walk around to get oriented. The only other discomfort was that I was too warm in the room, especially for sleeping. I could not control the heat or open a window and I had disruptive sleep because I kept waking up sweating, Overall I would recommend the hotel though.
