The lunch menu was very tasty. The nature trails were terrific and the staff knowledgeable of the different trails. I was sad at the condition of the floor and window sills of our room, but the water was hot and the towels clean. Previous guest's lotion was still on the chair in the bathroom and bathroom floor had lotion still on it. The carpet was rank and I hated to step with bare feet. Bed had to be almost 20 years old since it sunk in the middle. But sheets were clean and pillows comfortable. Lodge run by state park system.
Lots of bugs on the property, a few in our room. Shower was not super clean looking. Breakfast was really good. Nice staff.

The park is beautiful and the reception desk was very helpful. The lodge room bathrooms really need an update. The shower was way to hot and no matter what I did I couldn't cool it down. The little balcony was really nice and the breakfast was good too. Overall good experience.
Nice place to spend the night. Value for money. Not as upmarket as some places but for the price fine. Continental breakfast a bonus.

will return, needs some minor improvements
The room itself was very clean. but there is an outside balcony (very quiet and peaceful) that needed attention to cobwebs and outdoor dirt. I also wasn't too happy withe lack of towel bars and clothing hooks to hang you clothes on. There was no closet in the room. All said, though, we will certainly stay there again.
Property was dated but fine. Hiking and views were wonderful. Property bar was wonderfully staffed and quite nice. Gift shop was tiny and parking is limited near hotel.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Surrounding state park is beautiful but the cottages need a update.
The doors could only be opened and closed by throwing thors hammer at them. Frame for the bathroom door was almost rusted through. When you turn the bathroom fan on to get the smell out of the room it awakens a demon banshee that snatches away your children. Or at least thats the sound it makes. The cold water shuts off every 30 seconds when taking a shower so you get 2nd degree burns just trying to wash the soap off. Didn't use the soap but it was empty so couldnt anyways. Other than that great time.
The setting and surrounding area were great. Good hiking; the pool looked very nice. The room could have used some updating and maintenance. The sink faucet dripped and the shower control did not work properly; it was very tricky to regulate. Rust on the towel rack. The bathroom did not appear to have any ventilation causing a great amount of moisture build up when using the shower. The bed was comfortable.

Nice but needs a lot of updating
The room size was great, the beds were comfortable, loved the private sitting area, nice included breakfast with lovely serving help, beautiful ground BUT.....The shower never produced hot water, at best lukewarm to cool. There was only one small trash container in the bathroom, the room needs an extra one of a kitchen size one. Lots of rust and peeling paint due to moisture.Smokers on the balcony beside It could be so lovely if it received some love. I'm sure it's like all things right now, funding for state parks is limited.

Whole cabin, price was ok
Location was good, cabins are close to eachother. Outside of the cabin had some siding rot, cabin itself was clean and came with plates etc. Biggest issue was finding the lodge to check in. Ya blink once you miss the sign. Restaurant was ok, wifi DOES NOT WORK AT THE CABINS. T.v barely wanted to cast. The lodge had great signal. I only stayed 1 night so maybe its because it was rainy the wifi didnt work, either way that was stressful.
Being a State Park, The lodge was somewhat institutional, but absolutly in a beautiful place. They also have a tavern and dining room and the staff are very nice and add to the uniqueness of the property. Already planning our return trip!

Terrible customer service
We arrived at 3 pm for check in. Get to room and turn heat on because it’s cold. It’s only blowing cold air after 3 hours of running. It is literally 60 degrees in our room. Call front desk and soneoneone comes down to check it. She argues with us that we just need to let it run to get warm because it’s a geothermal unit. Fine! We let it run for another hour and it’s progressively getting colder because it’s blowing COLD air. Call again and the same lady comes down and finally admits that it isn’t getting warm after being VERY condescending. She said she would contact maintenance to look at it Saturday morning. It’s so cold that we had to sleep in our clothes and winter coat Friday night. Saturday morning we get up to hike early, so I swing by office to make sure that maintenance was coming by to check our heat. Of course, the lady from night before did absolutely NOTHING, no maintenance notes at all for our room. I ask the guy to please send maintenance. We get back around 3:00 pm. Haven’t heard from hotel at all during day. Heat still isn’t fixed so I go BACK to front desk and they tell me that heat is broken (no kidding). She gives me ZERO options (no more rooms). I had to argue with her to contact a manager for a discount. Meanwhile we have to drive 35 min to Jackson Ky Walmart to buy sweat suits and blankets so we don’t freeze to death. $100 each for that purchase. Sunday morning we check out and they only gave us a discount for Saturday night only
