i was in town for a funeral. Due to the Grand Prix, I was unable to find any other rooms available. They have worked VERY hard to recover from the hurricane. If I was not a native of St. Pete, I would enjoy a resort like the Rum Fish.

For the amount of money I paid per night, this hotel was awful. At check-in, had problems with A/C unit being very loud - they did nothing and didn't change my room. Next morning, got in shower and hot water lasted approximately 3 minutes - was that way rest of stay. Staff not helpful at all - would not recommend this hotel. Very disappointing.

“Resort view” was disappointing. It was set up Like a motel with no balcony to ourselves. Understaffed at front desk. Had to request our room be cleaned. Location is good. Beach was great.

Just don't...

Here we go: the room smelled like pure mold and mildew, asked for towels 4 times and never got them, the walk trough the dark garage and dark areas felt very unsafe, bathroom had a broken towel rack that kept falling off the wall, shower was humid because there was no vent, couch had food crumbs and orange powder when we walked in, it was a very small room for a double queen suite, also lights on the 3rd floor outside were completely out making it completely blackout. Pools are just ok. Also if you checkin with 4 people you were only allowed 1 set of chairs even though you are paying extra for 4 people. I'm very disappointed after doing research, I thought it was a good place and I felt like I was in a run-down motel.

Most of english speaking staff were rude and not willing to go above and beyond. We needed laundry soap and was told by several staff to go to the 711. We were also told we could buy in the gift shop but she told us you didn’t have any. If your going to have laundry for guests why is there no laundry soap? Guests dont want to but a large bottle while visiting. Also… our room (3833) carpet was disgusting. I’m sure you’ve been shampooing it, but have done so many times, that it’s overloaded with soap and crusty. It definitely needs replacement. On a positive note, we did find a few staff members that were very kind. In particular, the older gentleman that takes care of the beach accommodations, one of your bartenders on the outside beach side, also, one of the waitresses from your restaurant. I wish I would’ve gotten their names so you could give them special commendations.

Loved having multiple pool options. Room was clean but for the cost for a basic room with view of parking lot and neighbors we could hear we were unhappy with our options to move to a different room or to upgrade.

Resort is not worth the price. Bathroom and room cleanliness are like 3rd grade road side motel. No exhaust in the bathrooms. Defenitely not like a resort type. The couch is terrible and smelly. 2 of the 4 lifts in the building we stayed are notnworking during the duration of the stay. Not the kind of stay i expected after a day long outside activities to come and take rest. We booked first floor with patio access. When we got there, they said they are not ready after the recent storms. If thats the case, they should not put it out to reserve. To our aurprise they gave a room on the 4th floor and it only have a sliding door and no balcony. When i asked they said "we consider it a balcony room". Well, I consider it a "scam" Room cleaning people are friendly, they gave us towels and extra bed sheets to cover the filthy cauch soner can at least put our stuff on there as the carpet is dirty and didnt feel like walking with out flipflops or shoes on.

We stayed and the Rumfish Beach property in a gulf facing suite. Amazing view of a very clean beach which we could not enjoy due to the cool weather that slipped into St. Pete Beach over the week we were there. RumFish Beach clientele are also allowed to use the Trade Winds Island Grand facilities which was a huge plus given the weather. We managed to get in pickleball in the time we were there. Island Grand is more of a facility for families with little children's activities like putt putt golf. They also do have activities that adults can enjoy like paddle boating . We enjoyed the drum beating group activity on Island Grand. Rumfish Beach resort also has fires 'n' smores in the evening which is also very entertaining. All in all, a very good decision if you want to go to either of the Trade Winds resort. While they are recovering from the recent hurricanes (hence the 4 on the property condition), they still put up a very good accomodation.
