Ease of process. Basic but reasonably good rooms and facilities. Walkable to CBD through RBG or harbour side, or 7 mins walk from Kings Cross train station.

Great hotel for the money however it wasn’t very clean. We found a spider & a two cockroaches during our 4 night stay - I know insects can get in but not what we expected when the room was cleaned every day. Hotel is quite dated, shower pressure wasn’t great but it did the job. Location is ok although neighbours are…colourful. It was easy to get to public transport and access to the beautiful city. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Other than our unexpected room mates I can’t complain for the cost!

Wonderful stay

We had a lovely stay here, couldnt fault anything, with spacious, clean, well decorated room with great equipment. The breakfasts were superb quality, with plenty of options for all tastes. There are several nice rest spaces on all floors with comfortable seating etc which give a great relaxation area. The Opera house is a 20 min walk away throuh the beautiful botanical gardens and many of the best known locations are only a short walk away. Overall we couldnt fault our stay there and will certainly be back on out next Sydney visit.

Daily breakfast was a winner as we didn't have to venture out to find anything, just have breakfast and be on your way. Lots of things within walking distance, and if not Didi didn't cost much! Managed to tick of quite a few bucket list items!

Got there, and asked about our requested porta cot. Was told it wasn’t requested. But we were assured that they had one. Got up to the room. Phone was disconnected, so went back down to reception an hour after check in to find out more about the porta cot. Reception was closed so used the hotel phone, was told they were out getting a solution. Two hours after check in, still hadn’t received, so went back down to use the phone in the entrance. Rang, said sorry but it is 6:30, any chance of that cot be up soon. Again was told they were working on it. 7:15 came, went down and rang again, was met with a sigh and told she was just finishing dinner with her husband and then she will bring it up. 7:30 came, booked another hotel as we didn’t feel looked after, and were a bother to be there. When heading down with our bags, passed the manager, and I said this probably because I booked through hotels.com, and she said we don’t deal with hotels.com.

We stayed two nights and checked in late (22:30) via the lockbox on a Friday night, we had trouble getting our key but the person on call answered my WhatsApp text almost immediately and we got in. We had problems with our room the first night, so the next morning when reception opened we asked if there was any chance of changing rooms. The staff were very gracious and accommodating, we received a new room within 30 mins and were able to hand back our old room key after we settled into the new room, plus we received a free upgrade to a bigger room. The free breakfast had more options than I expected for the price of the hotel. The communal spaces were lovely and well maintained. Highly recommend this hotel and we will definitely be staying here again in future. A big thank you to the whole Mariners Court Hotel team!
