We checked in and left 10 minutes later. The hotel inside and out was disgusting there were roaches in the hotel room and overall the cleanliness was awful.
I have stayed at several Rodeway Inn’s and I am Familiar with the area, so when booking this I thought it would be fine for just the night. Upon arriving, my husband immediately had a bad feeling. He is not one to get that way but I was extremely tired and just wanted to sleep. The front of the hotel looked fine but there were a lot of homeless people around and even a prostitute! I went to check in and had to wait several minutes for someone to come. I was placed on the 3rd floor and the room immediately next door looked like it was someone’s home, they decorated with their belongings. Actually the whole side of the hotel looked dirty and there were what it seemed like multiple peoples homes (inside they did have rates for long term rentals and if I knew that ahead of time I would have picked elsewhere.) inside the room you can smell and see black mold and smell cigarettes. There were multiple holes in various places, including right in front of the toilet! The main door lock was half dangling, and looked like it could be kicked in. The bed was very old and sank in so you could feel the springs. The microwave was very dirty. The painting looked like it had moisture damage and the bed had holes in the sheets. This app couldn’t help my situation but the man at the front desk kindly refunded when I went down and showed him photos. The hotel right next door looked so much safer and cleaner as well.
Horrible hotel room we left after arriving and finding there to be blood splatter on the doors, the lamp was smashed, and there were unknown stains on the bedding
Pros - Check in was fast n easy and the gentleman at the front desk was very accommodating (I needed a late check out due to flight), plus the price was cheaper than any hotel with in 10mile radius, I saved about $100 per night and distance to the event I was attending was in the area.
Cons - The room was not the cleanest, needs paint, burn holes on bed comforter, bathtub needs repair and some shower tiles were cracked but still usable.
Lastly the area has LOTS OF HOMELESS, THUGS AND DRUG DEALERS outside durning the day and night. I saw 4 men sitting by the pool smoking marijuana and numerous bags of on the table. I was asked several times if i wanted to buy drugs.
Honestly, I would stay here again
If I couldn't find anything in the area with a comparable price.
The room was dirty. Everything about the room looked dirty even the walls and bathroom. There was roaches in the room and bathroom, there was no clean towels and washcloths, the sheets were suspect. The room smelled like secondhand smoke and it gave drug infested areas and rooms
It is located in a very ghetto area, surrounded of homeless people and scary people around the hotel.
The room had the lock broken, no phone in the room, infested by roaches, the mattress had the springs broken making it hard to sleep. Definitely it is not a good place to stay you will feel very uncomfortable and scared of the area.
There were c*m stains on the bed in plain sight. Cigarette burns in the sheets despite being a “non-smoking room”. Absolutely disgusting and unlivable. Do not stay here.
From the pictures it looked quaint, what you don't see are the numerous loiterers in the parking lot who upon entry commented on the car we were driving and shouting not only to each other but the other rooms as well. The other side of the parking lot where i had to go to get the key from the night office was more calm, but still a few more people "hanging out" in the parking lot than I liked. Because half of the 4 of us staying in this place are larger teen boys we decided to brave it, it was only one night after all. there were 4 pillows for 2 beds in the room no extra blankets and if you don't count the never washed green bed cover with burn holes as a blanket there were none. The lights flickered on and off on one half of the room and the beds were uncomfortable at best. Please learn from me, if you walk in and see "weekly rates" on a whiteboard in the office turn around! Especially disappointed and feel taken advantage of to see that i paid nearly the weekly rate for one night in this establishment and if my experience was this bad wonder what would a week there look like...
Worst hotel that I have ever stayed at. Homeless people everywhere around the hotel, with their friends all living at the hotel. Prostitutes and drug dealers in and around the hotel at all hours. Parties going on in the parking lot. My non smoking room smelled of smoke.
The olace is a long term FEMA site fir displaced. There is no phones in the rooms, and there are roaches crawling around. In the bathroom sink someone jammed paper, and the rv hung precariously from the wall. The libg on the door was bust. I had to changed rooms because tv cord had been yank out. But if you dont mind honeless people encamped round your hotel, or prostitutes hanging at tge grocery store a block away, then its perfect for yiu, but not for me
The neighborhood was scary. The property was a mess. There were homeless people sleeping on the stairs and on the ground all around the property. There were what appeared to be drug deals taking place and loud music from cars in the parking lot all hours of the night. Velocity should never recommend this place to anyone. I will use other booking services in the future
1. There is no casino. I know a casino would not build in a slum area and normally the hotels are decent at a casino.
2. The room is as basic as you can get. One night stand between the beds. No chair, no place to put your clothes or in the least a table or bench to put you luggage on.
3. Your feet stick to the floor. It was dirty.
4. The doors and windows have gaps, allowing roaches and other insects in.
