Horrible!

Took my 3 kids to this hotel and a friend. We rented two rooms and at first they claimed they couldn't find one reservation. Once in my room my 4 year old found a nail on the floor, tiles were coming off the wall, my two year olds feet turned black, I found an unknown sticky spot on the floor, my wife found unknown stains on all bedding, she also found a matted clump of hair in the bedding, and I was able to open the window while it was "locked". My friend went into his room which was not clean so they moved him to a not much cleaner one. This whole process took over an hour to address with front desk as they had to handle another matter from a few other customers so they told us the could not offer a refund due to it being past 15-20 minutes after check in. Front desk refused to check us out until today as that was supposed to be the end of our stay. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!

The hotel is large and offers a workout room but it’s also out dated and dirty. The rooms have fleas or gnats that bite.. I was also informed that you can only eat the continental breakfast inside the designated area. Unaware of that, I walked out with food and was immediately stopped by the front desk and told that I was breaking the rules. Good rate but bad service and the hotel is run down.

The room was not very clean - stains on the linens, sticky stuff on the surfaces, and someone’s leftover body wash and bath puff in the bathroom, along with an empty tp roll. The lights didn’t work well, and there was a semi-separate room that would have been a great work space, except that the light didn’t turn on, there was hole in the wall (the size of a fist), and there was a table but no chairs

Nothing worked. Everything was closed or down for maintenance. You were not aloud to take food back to your room from the breakfast. Which was not good and had very minimal selection.

We stayed here for 1 night to catch the Amtrak train for Chicago the next morning. The lobby was dimly lit and appeared to be under construction. There were cars in the parking lot with broken windows and some looked like they hadn’t moved in months. The side door to the hall way was not secured, anyone could walk in. The window opened and did not have a screen, seemed very unsecure to me. The room looked like it had been renovated with new paint but the thresholds were filthy. The desk chair was ripped up. The entire place smelled of cigarette smoke and foods. We had originally reserved a room there for our trip home, but canceled that reservation as soon as we checked out and booked a different motel.

The staff was polite and did their best. However, the building was extremely old and worn, with many problems as a result, including cleanliness, how clean can you get it when everything is ancient?! The rates were low, but the clientele attracted by that made me feel uneasy and unsafe at times. Would not recommend staying here with children.

STOP AND READ!!

Rent by the hour. Trap houses have nothing on this. This is the trap. From screaming families in rooms. The smell of mold and old food lingering through the halls. Hookers on the corners. Randoms in the halls. Front desk, man very nice. Signs when entering about cash deposits. Now let’s talk about the room cigarette burns, unusable bathroom with urine stains around the toilet base. We walked in and we walked out never to get a refund. They can keep our money. Enjoy your stay it’s a memorable one.
