The town's harbour is one of the largest on the white coast and therefore the restaurant menus are rich in delicious seafood. Visit the fish market and the sea and salt museum. There is a fantastic nature reserve around Torrevieja and in the impressive Salinas de Torrevieja, the pink salt lake, you can swim and admire the pink flamingos. The wetland area, Las Lagunas de la Mata Natural Park, offers marvellous nature experiences and many beautiful hiking and cycling trails that take you through the La Mata wine region, among others. In the green, mountainous background of the coast, you can also go on a culinary voyage of discovery and savour sweet oranges.
