Terrible Service

When I received a call from the front desk to ask what time I was checking in or if I needed a parking space, he was not very kind at all. We’ve never been there before. How would I know if I needed a parking space. When I was questioning that he didn’t seem very friendly. Upon arrival, it appeared that he the front desk did not enjoy his job and did not want to be bothered by anybody. Very disappointing when you’re going to a place like that spending a lot of money.

Terrible stay avoid this place

Unfortunately this bed and breakast has gone down hill in the last 6 years. We stayed in 2019 and loved it and now the breakfast is gone (they claim Marin county wont allow it even though covid era mandates are over for a long time now) and the room was terrible (yellow stained curtains and no AC) Skip this place and stay at Casa Madrina (we will next time)

We stayed 4 nights. Rooms were large. Bedding and pillows were wonderful and I slept very well. Location was great, just off the main walkable street with many shops and restaurants. My sisters family’s room had an outdoor patio off the sidestreet with a bay view where all seven of us could gather each day. We walked to the ferry and took it to San Francisco where we took a streetcar to the end of the route and walked a couple blocks to a bike shop for a scheduled bike tour that ended in Sausalito. We also took a day trip to John Muir Woods, an old growth coastal redwood forest about a 20 minute drive NW. Weather was excellent the whole time. Sunny and 70,s.

The room was good. The view was fabulous. Only negative was there was no place to sit in the room. The porch was lovely and we did sit there. But once in the room there was no chair only the bed to sit on. Loved the location. Staff were helpful. Would definitely go back. Thanks for the dining recommendations. Angelino was excellent.

We absolutely loved the property and the rooms. There was an awful smell in our room that would not go away. The fan system did not clear out the smell and the room was uncomfortably warm. I believe someone snaked in the room often which made the filters smell as well. I told the people at the front desk and they are going to try and clean it out. But other than the smell everything was great.

Lovely people, beautiful old historic feeling place. There were a few idiosyncrasies related to it being an older building that were not ideal for a romantic anniversary trip (needing a loud fan and sleeping with windows open, a little less private feeling than expected including on the balcony), also the decor in the room left a little to be desired, but despite those types of things, it’s a beautiful unique place right downtown, and we loved our experience and being walking distance from everything. Also the staff was very very kind! Thank you :)

The location was great. The check in was easy. The room was very hot w no ac…everything was dated. Ceiling fans would be nice. Can’t leave windows or doors open at night due to safety reason. The best thing about the room was the nice towels and the walking location to restaurants and shops.

Peaceful and nice spot!

This was a last minute overnight getaway. It was close to everything, the staff was super welcoming and helpful. The room was very historic feeling, but nicely maintained. I only wish I had a room with a view! It would be nice to have a place to purchase snacks, drinks, etc. But overall great.

Perfect location for walkability to shops, dining, waterfront, and entertainment. Clean, quaint, and well kept. Great views of bay. Spacious with many amenities. Can get a bit warm during day with afternoon sun but overall comfortable and box fan helped to pull in outside air. Zacharias was very pleasant and had many suggestions for both food and entertainment.

Parking is limited. If you don't get in there 7 spots you were pushed elsewhere. $30 for parking should be included as the cost of the room is a bit excessive. Nice room and deep tub was relaxing.

We stayed in the Cedar Room. Nice setup. Zachariah was very informative about the best places to eat. Great location, so didn’t have to drive around. Just walk. Only problem was the parking. Tight garage had a water pipe and I backed in and hit a water pipe and smashed the car taillight.

Summer Ladies Weekend

The Gables Inn is a really cool, clean and welcoming place. Our room was very spacious with a side door to the patio where you can see the bay while drinking your morning coffee. My rooms ac unit was not working and it was pretty warm throughout the day at 74 degrees inside the room, making it difficult to get ready for the night activities. The staff were friendly and provided great recommendations to grab fresh croissants and coffee. Overall I would give this stay a 8/10.
