The front desk charged me an extra $15.00 and said I could claim at the airport through immigration. That was totally bogus and a lie to obtain $15.00 in cash. They would not even charge it to my credit card. I know that was a way to get money from foreigners. Really disappointed. $15.00 here $15.00 there adds up.

Overnight layover

The decor of the property was amazing, however the check-in process was very slow. While I showed the receptionist my reservation number and information, it took her a long time to find me in the system, then she indicated that she did not see my name. Then she eventually found it. Once we made it to the room the toilet did not flush. When I called downstairs she indicated that someone would be right up. After what seemed like 10 minutes, I called back. Then about 5 minutes later there was a knock on the door, the person that came up was the security guard. He piddled for a few minutes but kept saying it was fixed, then when I tried flushing the toilet, it did not work. This went on for a then the front desk called and said there was no maintenance on and that they were going to change our rooms. Keep in mind that it is nearly midnight and we had to get up for an early departure. No one offered an apology a possible credit toward my next stay nothing.

I wish I could say our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Bogotá Airport was a positive experience, but unfortunately, it was overshadowed by a deeply upsetting incident that left both my fiancé and me feeling targeted and unwelcome. On the morning of our stay, as we approached the hotel entrance, we got momentarily confused about where to go. Rather than being greeted with the warmth and hospitality one would expect from a hotel that prides itself on treating guests like family, we were immediately met with suspicion. A security guard, William Joya, looked us up and down and then proceeded to follow us throughout the lobby for several minutes as we oriented ourselves. The situation escalated when he trailed us to the elevator, continued to stare us down, and appeared to wait just to confirm that our key cards worked. It was humiliating and completely uncalled for. My fiancé and I may look different than the typical guests in the area, but that should never justify being treated with such suspicion and disrespect. No one should feel policed or harassed simply for existing in a space they’ve paid to be in. This experience was disheartening, especially in a place that claims to welcome all guests as family. We expected professionalism and courtesy, and instead were left feeling singled out and deeply uncomfortable. As someone who has stayed in many Hilton hotels, unfortunately, this will be my last time.
