enjoyed our stay in camara do lobos. The apartment was clean and as described. Access was easy and we had no issues. Prompt responses to any questions. The balcony is very small but you can't beat that view.

Cute place, great views

We were on Madeira for a week and enjoyed our location just outside Funchal. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for a week. The little balcony was fun to sit on for coffee every morning and watch the ocean. We saw dolphins one morning and a whale one morning. We had a bit of a scavenger hunt for check-in, our maps was not giving us the correct location and we should have watched the short videos provided for key and door location as a group before arriving to the property. There are a couple nice breakfast places and grocery stores within walking distance, if you don't mind chugging up and down a couple hills! But if you are on Madeira you will need to be used to that! The most vertical landscape I've ever visited! My other advice is renting a car on the smaller side. The parking space provided in the garage is pretty tight. But for us (in January) there was plenty of parking on the street as well.

Beautiful view...

The apartment is spacious having 3 large bedrooms. The living space is smaller and not ideal for 6 people, so I would recommend it for 4 adults. The balcony offers amazing views across the sea and towards Funchal, it is not really suitable for small children as the railing is low and a ladder design. The apartment is really well equipped and has everything you could possibly need in terms of cutlery crockery and cooking implements ( one or two baking trays would be good) Communication with the hosts was really good and they answered our questions promptly and dealt with a couple of minor issues really quickly. It could do with some more local information such as bus routes into funchal ( we couldn't work out which bus went past the apartment so walked from town). A welcome pack of essentials would be great ...nothing provided.The apartment is up quite a steep hill from camara de lobos and there are a lot of steps up to it so not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Overall, I would recommend this apartment as a really great place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of funchal. Camara de lobos is a lovely little place with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. (Use Bolt for cabs as it's cheaper ).
