The small town of Álora with its 13,000 inhabitants is located about 40 kilometers northwest of the provincial capital and Malaga coast. Below the city center is one of the most fertile valleys in Andalusia, whose farmers specialize mainly in the cultivation of date palms and sugar cane. Álora is also known for its pleasant climate, which is mainly due to its location sheltered by the mountains. As a brandy production center, Álora is also visited by many tourists every year.
