Booked this property through expedia. Was driving from Houston to take my mother there for her birthday. As we were almost there 2 hours away from the resort, I received a text to check in early. While attempting to check in early, I see that it says my reservations were cancelled. I called the resort and they claimed to not know what happened and told me to call Expedia. When I called Expedia, they said my reservation is still showing active on their side. I asked them to call the resort to verify because we were almost there and we needed to know if we had somewhere to stay or not. After holding, Expedia notified me that the resort cancelled my payment due to my card being declined. However, check im time was 3pm and this incident was happening at 9am. The resort never notified me and told me my reservations were cancelled nor that they were even TRYING to take a payment! I expressed to expedia them instructions of payments could be taken out before arrival wasnt displayed anywhere. Expedia rep was also unaware of rule and documented it for future candidates that possibly book. I asked if they could try to charge my card now as I turnt it on but because the resort cancelled it , they wanted me to pay a $500 FEE that the resort wanted to charge me and expedia rep said they will TRY to get it waived due to miscommunication. I even tried rebooking (at this time its around 9:28am .. room got cancelled at 9am) and RESORT WAS ALREADY BOOKED UP! We couldnt even go to OKC !!
