The basics were handled well: the food, snacks, and drinks were GOOD overall, though it can be confusing to figure out which outlet serves what at times. The air conditioning worked reliably and the bedding was comfortable.
However, service and facilities left much to be desired. The shared pool Jacuzzi functions were out of order, and service consistently missed the mark. Food shortages occurred—like a certain item running out at the BBQ station two hours before closing—which is simply unacceptable for this price point. Consistency is an issue: welcome amenities varied drastically depending on who managed the check-in, based on clear observations of other arriving guests.
Charging €20–€35 for late check-out at a supposedly five-star hotel is disappointing, regardless of the amount.
On the culinary side, the Italian à la carte and Steakhouse experiences were good, but the so-called Italian Brunch was a letdown: the menu descriptions did not match the served food, which was BLAND and of poor quality.
Bottom line: for the rates charged, especially compared to other local resorts, these issues are unacceptable and fall farrrrr short of five-star standards.
