It was in a very busy street and I could hear the traffic and horns all night. The air conditioner was extremely loud and I could barely sleep in the first night. I think I have requested a quiet room away from traffic. Breakfast didn't have a good variety. The last morning they ran out of plates.

At first glance, the neighborhood looks questionable and so you wonder about the hotel itself. Let me tell you this: Do not let the outer appearance of the neighborhood fools you because the hotel and inside of the hotel is very nice and clean! The staff is very friendly, courteous and helpful. The location is only 1 block from the PATH train station (Journal Square station) which takes you easily into NYC in less than 20 min to The Rockerfeller Center and Empire State Building which is also not that far from Times Square. Or if you go to the 9/11 Memorial and the One World Observatory, it's only 3 stops away from that PATH Journal square train station! It is VERY convenient without paying the high NYC hotel prices! We used Lyft to get to Liberty State park for our ferry to the Statue of Liberty and it was ver convenient, about 20 min from the hotel. The hotel is also right around the corner from a street that has many restaurants, markets and stores, right along the way to/from the train station, so it is extremely convenient!! Most stores open around 9, 10 in the morning while the supermarkets are opened earlier. The hotel offers a good spread of breakfast which is included in your stay. It is a smoke free hotel and has airport shuttle to the Newark airport (make sure to check the time available first). They clean and restock daily. The AC worked well for us, no issue there. The bathroom is dated but it is clean and that matters. The room was very spacious for us.

I apprecated the historic nature of the property. Staff were friendly and attentive. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was good. The property is convenient to shops and transportation into New York. Bathrooms need to be upgraded.

Older hotel that has smaller than usual “queen” size beds and a small bathroom. For the most part, it was ok except for the louder than usual street traffic due to the uninsulated window ACs. So, bring ear plugs.

The hotel was very conveniently located near the train station, just 15 minute walk. Although the neighborhood appeared a bit old and rough around the edges, it felt completely safe to walk around. The two gentlemen working the night shift at the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly. They kindly arranged a very convenient room for us, which was especially appreciated since I was traveling with my mom. Overall a great value for money - comfortable, convenient, and well worth the price.

My girlfriend & I stayed at the Ramada for one night for a wedding we had in Jersey City. It wasn’t amazing, but got the job done. The included breakfast was really nice. The room was very clean, just not very updated. The air conditioning unit in room was loud, but kept us nice and cool. The hotel itself felt safe, but you know the city is nothing to write home about. All in all we would stay here again!

This is a great value for the money. We saved a considerable amount over nearby hotels, got free shuttle service back and forth to airport and had a very comfortable stay. This is not a brand new hotel but overall super happy with choice!
