Unfortunately you get what you pay for. Room was ok bed was dirty and stained sheets were stained all over and itchy i broke out in a rash. Went to take a shower and uppn turning the water on it smelled of a rotten food and really musty blehh but worst of when i got out of the shower all my jewlery had turned copper brown. I know water and they absolutely have iron, magnesium, sulfar & black water in their system. Told management and he said they hadnt rented out that side of the rooms yet and offered no apology or any type of refund. Will absolutely never stay here again. Cant even see the water (brook) like description says. Very sad. Stay in town pay the extra money for a clean room and non smelly water.

No TV service

The hotel website said TV was included but on check in I was told that no TV cable service was available and it wouldn’t be available for so time to come. Had I known this I would not have booked with this hotel. They should not be allowed to mislead the public like this. Shame on Hotels.com for allowing this scam to continue. At the very least a rebate should have been offered.

Filthy floors.

The property was older as we expected. Many reviews said the same but said it was clean. It was clean everywhere except the floor. It was filthy! You could feel the grit as you walked across the floor. I wipped a small spot with a wet paper towel I had and it cam away brown like dirt. We never took our shoes off till we climbed on bed. Bathroom floor was ok.

It was a great location but everything about the place screamed "I got the cheapest furnishing, decor and appliances. The vinyl flooring in the bathroom is is bubbling up and needs replaced, and the shower head needs cleans of calcium. From the looks of the outside I was afraid it would be dirty but it was not.

Although the staff was very kind, the property is in poor condition. The small TV has maybe 3-4 channels. There is no shower gel, but cheap soap that doesn't really clean. The shower is very small. I am not tall (5'7") and I had to crouch to get beneath the water. Despite the claim that there is wifi, it was completely unavailable in my cabin. The price is right, I slept well, but would not recommend staying here if those issues are important to you.

Cute Cottages Nestled in the Mountains

The Brookside Motel felt more like staying in a cute little cottage or cabin rather than in a motel. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the Motel seems to attract other friendly tourist. We striked up multiple conversations with people at this motel and got along with everyone. Very close to Mount Rushmore and other attractions in Keystone.
