Sight and Sound Theater getaway

We had a wonderful time. The staff were great and kind. The rooms and property were clean and neat. The matrices were on the firm side of things for me but were very nice. The farm tour and the restaurant was amazing!! We will definitely stay here again .

NOT Handicapp Friendly

We had booked 2 adjoining rooms 3 months in advance, we were under the understanding that this hotel is handicapp friendly it is most certainly not, there is no step free entrance to get to reception once we checked in we went to find our rooms theres no elevator on the end of the hotel they put us in, so we find out rooms wendid find a ramp to use to push my mothers wheelchair in when we found our rooms they were not adjoining. The rooms looked clean and comfortable but when we went to look at the pool and arcade is when we ralized we would have had to go outside walk over half way arounthe hotel to enter the pool area because it the only way to bget my mom in her wheelchair into the pool area the only other ways into the pool area all require going up and down steps. We were traveling with 2 seniors and 3 heart patients that cannot really climb stairs so i called the front desk to whoch they 1st told is they did the best they could for adjoining rooms but thr best they could do was rooms across the hall i said i booked like 3 to 4 months in advanvmce so this should not be a issue i ask for our money back and when we got to the frobt desk they offered us a upgrade to 2 rooms out front in the motel portion but by this point with all the walking we just said we wanted our money back and i booked with hotels.com rooms at the best western intercourse village down t&e street and bw came with a free breaskfast where bird in hand has to breakfast

Enjoyed our stay at the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn. We enjoyed the in house theater production, the pool was very enjoyable, beds were comfortable and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. Hope they get the restaurant back up and running. They had a fire in the kitchen last year and it still is not opened. I did not see anyone working on it. In previous stays, the restaurant was top notch. Hope they get it back on line soon. Miss it. Also, take the daily tour of Amish farmland and businesses. It takes a couple of hours and is very informative.

We have stayed here before. They had a couple of incidents that put their usual accommodations out of commission. Restaurant closed due to a fire. Front office under construction from an accident. Hot tub had not been cleaned in a while.

Room was very clean. I appreciated the assigned parking. The 2 hour complimentary van tour of the area was great! The hot tub was very relaxing. Price was reasonable. It was conveniently located for us. Front desk staff was very friendly, but not pool area staff. Both indoor pools were colder than desired. Pathway lights along sidewalk between front building and pool would be helpful. We stayed in older front building and water temperature for shower fluctuated from very hot to cold making showering unpleasant. No breakfast. No usb equipped receptacles.
