So glad we chose to stay here! The shuttle was very nice and so convenient. I called ahead to schedule our pickups and dropoffs (Burbank airport and Universal). It was easy and the staff was so helpful. Would absolutely stay here again.

We absolutely loved this hotel. This was an anniversary trip for us and we used Expedia to book, so we didn’t really have any experiences to go on, just a budget. When we checked in, the woman at the counter was absolutely the nicest person I’ve ever met. She explained everything, let me know where all the amenities were, and reminded me to let her know if we needed anything at all. I sent my hubs to the office for an extra blanket (one complaint, the bedding is one sheet and a thin, kinda scratchy blanket) and they immediately sent him back with one. The pool was lovely, we enjoyed a night time swim after a long day of walking. The restaurant associated with the property was yummy and reasonably priced (and we could charge to the room so that’s awesome!) and they also delivered breakfast to us in the morning. The breakfast we had was delicious. It was like we were eating in a restaurant but it was room service so that was nice, but kind of expensive ($18 for french toast is ridiculous) and then they have a service fee and you need to tip. So those items ended up costing $50. Yummy. But we ate out the second day. It was nice to have the option. All this to say I was absolutely stay again. The price was better with Expedia than booking alone so that will be what we do again. But we will stay again. Absolutely top notch.

Lovely three night stay

We are often visiting family in the area but this was our first time staying at the Safari Inn. The location is convenient to restaurants and shopping. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to staying at the Safari Inn on our next visit!

President day weekend stay.

Great shuttle services to Universal studios. A lot of great local restaurants and bars for fun night outs. Pool is heated. No jacuzzi. Service was good. It would have been nice to get room cleaned once though. We did not request so not deal breaker. Worst is parking, it is small and if someone does not pull all the way up in parking space and some one is parked on the second lane parking, very difficult to get out. Basically blocking the exit.

The Safari Inn is a 3 star motel, but the rooms were nice, clean and had a great shower. It sits on a busy street, but seemed safe and wasn’t too noisy. It’s an iconic property used in many films and movies, so was fun to stay there.

Would Stay Again Despite Charges

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Check-in was a breeze. Parking was abundant. The shuttle service and proximity to Universal Studios/ downtown area were easy to utilize. The only issue I had with the hotel was that I chose to pay at property upon check-in, however, the hotel charged me the night before my check-in date. This is the first time this has ever happened to me. I tried to resolve the issue with hotels.com, but because the hotel charged me they weren’t able to do anything. I reached out to the hotel about my frustrations and while they were validated, I was told all they could do was reverse the charge (which would take 3-5 business days to return the money), but then I would run the risk of losing the reservation which would put me in a completely different situation. I was told reservation charges the night before check-in was “normal”. I explained in my years of hotel reserving this was a first. Ultimately would stay here again, but be aware of the charge for the total amount of the reservation the night before check-in.
