Window was left open prior to our arrival and it had rained several times that day. Water was running down the wall and all over the floor. Towels were stained with either blood or feces. We were in a Non-smoking room, but the whole hotel smelled like cigarette smoke. Heard from locals that this is a rough area.

Quiet comfortable place to spend the night while I was in town visiting family. Lots of nearby shopping and dining options. Only negative I have is that the breakfast could have a few more options. Otherwise pretty good.

Reeks of Cigarette and marijuana smoke

Mason City, Iowa location. Checked in at 4:00 pm. Was placed in a smoking room with no availability to change rooms. Maybe my error and I accidentally booked a smoking room. However the hallways of the hotel reek of cigarette smoke and marijuana. Between the overwhelming smell of old cigarette smoke in our room and the marijuana smell that was coming into our room from the hallway we decided to leave we we returned to our room after the wedding reception we were in town for.

The location was close to where I needed to be. I was NOT happy that the air conditio er did not blow cold air, let alone cool air, the refrigerator did not keep food cold and the freezer had ice build-up with something frozen into it. The sink in the bathroom was useless as the basin was almost as big as the circumference of the cabinet itself. I found the last person's coffee pod in the coffee pot when I went to make coffee.
