The power went out from 7pm to 2:22am. That was rude, but not your fault. The luggage trolleys are 50 years old and garbage. The stay was fine, we will be back.

West Coast Road trip - Can't wait to stay again

I make a CA to WA (Or reverse) trip often, with my dog. When I am driving south, I split my drive with a stay in Ashland. This time, was my first to Callahan's. When people say " pet friendly" this should be the model! Everyone was excited to meet and scratch my friend! We were offered an upgrade, and after a long drive, I took the opportunity for a good soak. The views were wonderful. The room had a fireplace, with kindling already set up, and logs ready to go. Coffee pods are the norm in rooms - but was happy to see Portland coffee roaster instead of the usual. The fridge held temp for my cooler goods over night, Wine glasses and opener were also there. It's a Mountain Lodge, and cabin style. This place has been here a long while. Some of the decor is dated, but totally appropriate for the setting! I had a snack and a glass of wine in the bar, the bartender was happy to share which wines were just opened, and reccomended. They had a 2 person bluegrass/ folk duo playing live. Every single person I encountered was friendly and helpful! Looking forward to staying here again the next time!

place is really dated and beed a good cleaning, i get the rustic feel and look i actually like that but u can have that look and feel but be clean, the carpet in the halls was hod awful dirty and the chairs in my room ,well lets just say they scared me i mean how do u leave chairs that bad in a hotel room. i showered and walked ftom the shower to the bed and my feet looked like i was outside walking barefoot, this could be a great place just needs a little updating and a good cleaning

We stay here for the Scott Valley Wide Yard Sales. We were staying in Yreka but the homelessness has gotten out of hand. Callahans is in a great location close to Ashland, Medford and Yreka. It has beautiful valley views, large clean rooms. We will see you same time next year.

I would definitely stay here again. The room was very clean. The bed was fine. And the breakfast included potatoes and eggs, waffles, yogurt, toast, and cereal! I was concerned as I was going down the hall because the carpets are quite dated and stained, but the room was good, dated pillows and bedspread but clean. Very quiet too. The staff was wonderful.

The room was perfect! There was a very slight musty smell in the bathroom and when we turned on the air conditioner before bed, as we always do, it smelled like it had not been used for a long time. I imagine most guests wouldn’t even have noticed it.The restaurant was amazing! Loved the live music. And the food delicious. The breakfast, while listed a continental, was really more of a buffet. The food was great. Loved the woodsy feel both inside and out. We will definitely be back!

Callahan's has been on my list of places to stay, but I was concerned that it wasn't close enough to the theatre district, which is the main reason for going to Ashland. While it's a short drive, it's also a pleasant drive. The rooms have all the amenities that you would expect in any hotel. I was particularly impressed with the staff, who were all pleasant and helpful. The rooms might be just a tad dated, but that really adds to the charm of the lodge. (I don't think I've stayed in a mountain lodge that wasn't just a tad dated.) The continental breakfasts are outstanding and bountiful. The grounds are well maintained and the flowers everywhere are lovely. I would definitely stay here again.

Our room was #12 which is directly below the dining room. So we were awakened every morning at 6:30 am by the terrible noise from above. On our last night we were awakened at 2:30 am by the same noise. We called the front desk and complained and it got better but we could still here someone moving around above us. Additionally, the jacuzzi in our room had to be operated by getting under the bathroom sink and resetting the GFI switch. Then to turn it off we had to reverse the procedure. Also, our TV controller didn't work properly. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the entertainment very much. We would come back but definitely would ask for a different room.
