My colleague and I booked a room with 2 beds as we did not want to sleep together. The room had 2 single beds arranged as 1 queen bed. I was clear with my request and assured 2 queen beds. Very disappointed. Transparency from the hotel would have been appreciated. Will not stay with this brand hotel again. Other than the bed issue, the hotel was fine. I rate my stay on cleanliness, customer service and comfort.

We checked in late and didn't really notice till the next morning,but our bathroom smelt like the whole hotel had gathered in there to smoke. I bought a can of Glen 20 to clear the smell. Like walking into a bar in the 80's

This was our second stay at this hotel. The first time it impressed. Second time not so much. Check in was ok and the staff were very busy with heaps of people waiting. Room was smaller second time round but it was clean and comfy. TV did not work. Called reception and got some instruction that didnt work. Went down to reception and advised someone would be up 10 to 15 mins and no one showed up. Called reception and again told 10 to 15 mins. No one showed up. Called again and 1 hour later went down and the young lady at counter came up with us and she fixed the tv. Bath did not have a plug in it and called down for that. The safe didn't work but we left that. The hotel is at a good location and it is our preferred hotel. I hope it goes back to the same level as our first stay.

Terrible jackhammer noise in ceiling of bathroom too loud to stay in room. The staff did move us to another room with no hassle. Wifi terrible which also affected the TV. Pool, Sauna & Gym very good

The Oaks is a very comfortable hotel right in the heart of Melbourne. It provides a fantastic launch pad for so many tourist sights, either by walk, tram or train. Our room was spacious, the bed and pillows very comfortable, providing us with that all important good night's sleep. Our only real issue was the breakfast area that was at capacity with too few staff to cater for their needs. Even the front desk involved decent wait times with only one person behind the desk on numerous occasions. Good service goes hand in hand with an appropriate level of staff to cater for the needs of its clientle.

Absolute great location. We walked to queen Victoria markets, aquarium, mcg, marvel stadium, Docklands all with ease. A short 10minute walk to the train and Skybus station. Staff were lovely and our room fantastic. Perfect for our family of 4. Highly recommend this hotel!
