Given that our go-to hotel in Chelsea was not available, this hotel caught my attention due to consistently positive reviews emphasizing its cleanliness. Unfortunately, my experience was very different. While the room itself was modest and functional, the level of cleanliness left much to be desired. Upon arrival, I noticed hairs in the bathtub and grime lingering in the bathroom corners, suggesting a lack of thorough cleaning. The walls had stains and scratches, and the bed comforters appeared worn and dated. Additionally, a large brown stain on the desk chair deterred us from using it altogether. These details give the impression that the housekeeping standards are far from meticulous. To add to my disappointment, the checkout experience was less than satisfactory. After managing my luggage solo to the lobby, the attendant offered to take the cart outside to meet my husband. During this, he accidentally tore two of my shopping bags containing laundry. Although I understood it was unintentional and reassured him it was fine, his subsequent comment — “well, you’re going home, right?” accompanied by a laugh — struck me as unprofessional. The condition of my belongings & the inconvenience caused should not be dismissed lightly, regardless of the circumstances. Overall, while the location is convenient, I believe the hotel would benefit from heightened attention to cleanliness and improved staff training to ensure guests feel respected.
