I rarely leave reviews, but this hotel experience was so frustrating I feel I have to. If I could give zero stars, I would. When my husband and I arrived, we discovered the hotel was under major construction — something never disclosed when booking. Dust was everywhere, and the front desk had been moved to the lower level. At 2 p.m., the line for check-in was already long with only two staff working. After a 15-minute wait, the receptionist said no rooms were ready (understandable since we were early) but promised one within 20–30 minutes and that they’d call. We chose to leave our bags and go explore, only to be charged $6 per item — even for backpacks. I’ve stayed at Hilton, Hyatt, and others, and never been charged luggage fees as a paying guest. When we returned at 4 p.m., no call had come, phones weren’t answered, and the line was worse. After waiting nearly an hour, we were told again no room was ready. Returning at 11 p.m., the line was still long, and staff ignored us until a large airline crew arrived and were helped immediately. We finally got a key, only to find a tiny, outdated room. On top of that, there’s a $35 daily fee you can “use” for food, but with $8 water bottles and long café lines, it’s worthless. Overall: poor disclosure, understaffed, endless waits, hidden fees, and subpar rooms. Easily one of my worst hotel stays — I would never return or recommend it.

Hotel undergoing renovation. The normal elevators were shut down. Family member got stuck in the elevator for 15 minutes because we were using the elevator used by housekeeping. Other than that, we had a great stay and room was clean and nice.

We arrived during lobby renovations not aware of, so this seemed a bit chaotic with drop sheets and construction noise and workers everywhere, desk staff working off temporary tables. After our 4 night stay, the lobby was re-assembled and it looked fabulous. Was unaware of additional $40. per night 'destination fee', but they gave a daily $35 credit to use in their lobby starbucks and restaurants. The rooms need some renos, and the elevators are a challenge to navigate BUT we loved the proximity to Times Square, Central Park and walkable to many attractions. Even the Big Bus stops were close by! Really in the heart of it all!

This weekend at the Sheraton was the worst experience. First off hotel was under renovations, and we weren’t notified about this. The hotel made us use employee elevators that where not in the best conditions for guests to use. It was full off towels/ and essentials to stock up rooms, and mini fridges inside the elevator. Our friends had to stay in our room which made a total of 8 ppl because the line wrapped around the hotel, with only two people at the check in desk because according to employees, people called out, our friends didn’t get to the room until midnight which made it an inconvenience for us, we had to miss out on excursions and lost on $ because of this, when they finally got there room, they only had one bed available when they requested two for 4 ppl. The next day we had to wait again because they were going to switch their room, so they had to checkout and check in again, at this point the hotel wrapped around still. There was no staff for room service. Tv didn’t work. And staff was very rude and unprofessional. When they finally got elevators working, they closed off the employee ones and we were never told the others where functioning now, so we literally walked around the hotel for 30 mins trying to find an elevator. This was our first time visiting NY and staying at the Sheraton and it was truly one we will remember and not for a good reason. The Sheraton is one of our top options when are traveling anywhere we have never had a problem like this.

When checking into the hotel, my friends and I couldn’t check in until 12am! and had to wait in line to check in! While enjoying the city of NYC we had to pay $6 per back so we wouldn’t have to carry our luggage around. During our stay the Sheraton ran out of room so we had to check out 2 days to re-check in and still wait in line. Our second room had no AC. This ruined our experience of the trip as we were tired from arriving and weren’t able to rest properly.

En voyant tous les mauvais commentaires nous avons eu un peu peur de venir dans cet hôtel. Mais quelle surprise nous avons eu en arrivant! Emplacement idéal, tout est à maximum 30min à pieds, chambre plus que correcte et personnel serviable. Certes il a fallu attendre plus de une heure pour le check in mais je pense que c’est à cause des travaux qui sont désormais finis. Venez profiter de New York comme il se doit dans ce superbe hôtel!

If you are travelling with a family of three or four, forget about this hotel if you want all of them to fit in one room. All rooms have two full size bedrooms. Impossible to fit two people in each of them. Our long weekend stay was a kaos. People were waiting one hour in queue to do the checkin. Some people did not even receive a room by the time of the checking. They had to return several hours later. Seems that the hotel was overbooked. First and last experience booking a hotel with Expedia in the USA. I am a frequent flyer and cannot believe the service they provided through their page not even posting the size of the beds.

Convenient. Superior king size room was ok. If your a “ hotel snob” I wouldn’t recommend it but it was good and clean for the purpose laying your head comfortably. Some upgrades to fixtures would make it excellent.

Had the worst hotel experience. Been to NYC many times and it is my first time staying at this location considering the convenience of the location and Sheraton brand. Booked 4 nights 2 beds bedroom with friends. We arrived on Aug 29 at around 8:30pm and the check-in line was long with about 20ppl ahead. We waited for about 15mins not seeing the line moving, so we decided to get dinner first. We had to pay $6 per piece for storage even though we are hotel guests and we had no choice but to leave our luggages there due to the long check in line. We came back around 11:30pm and had a slightly longer line. We waited for a solid 2hrs for check in and were told we had to change to another room after 2 nights. There was no other explanation. Offering a late checkout is the only compensation to this experience. I understand that the hotel is doing some renovation, but this is not the service I would expect especially hearing a hotel staff saying ‘it is what it is’ when other hotel guests were complaining to him as he was in the area past midnight. We were told that we didn’t have to wait in line again for the room change after 2 nights, and my friend was told to wait in line again on Aug 31 around noon time to check if our new room is ready. Luckily, this time was a much shorter line. We asked for a pair of slippers two different times at the check in (Aug29/30 &Aug31) plus we called to request. Until we checked out, the slippers never arrived. Terrible experience.

I wish I could give Sheraton no stars . After arriving at the hotel at 5 after check in our room wasn’t ready , we came back after dinner at 8 and still no room . I was given the option to wait for my room another few hours or given 1 bed room and a rollout bed . I took the room with the roll out bed that never arrived 2 of us had to sleep on the grown. When we checked in we had to wait 2 hours in a line that wrapped around the whole lobby. When we got to the front desk we were told that they only had availability for 2 nights and then the last night we would have the check out of the first room and check into a new room. So they had to make a whole new reservation that took even longer. We were told by the manager that we can come after 12 to switch rooms. After the 2 nights we went to go switch rooms at 12 but we were told that we would have to wait until 4 to check in even though we werent informed of that when we checked in for the first 2 nights. The first two nights we were in room 546 and the quality of the room was terrible. It is not what i paid for. I had to call room service 3 times for new bed sheets and blankets because they were dirty and they kept bringing dirty blankets. The shower was filling up everytime we showered so we could only take a 5 minute shower or else it would over flow. We called the front desk for someone to check it out. A person came but it was barely fixed. Then when we checked into the new room, you could tell the difference between both rooms. It was more cleaner and put together. But at 8 in the morning a security came telling us to wake up even though we didnt ask for a wake up call or person. Not only that they didnt even knock they just opened up the room with a key card. Fortunately we put the lock so they couldn't come in but if not they would have been able too.
