Well this hotel is going under major renovations. You have to go down to go up to your room and everybody's kind of lost inside. Bed is confortable, room was clean, staff is nice and hotel is well located. I would go back when they are finished with renovating.

Pardon the progress

I have stayed at the Sheraton before, and it was always a positive experience. This time it was also very positive because of its location and everyone that I spoke with was very pleasant and informative and helpful. They are under construction, so everything is turned upside down and the reception area is temporarily in another spot and everyone is in a temporary place in the lobby. It’s a little confusing at first as to where to go to get to your room. I found others confused as well as to what button to press to get assigned an elevator to take you to your particular floor. I’m just mentioning this so that they can look into it but once you get it, it’s fine. Like I said, the staff are doing their job. Well, considering their conditions and the Sheraton is going to great once they’re finished. Overall, it was positive.

The price was good for a hotel in Manhattan. The location was great, close to everything. The hotel and rooms need to be renovated. It is very old. The cart, lamps and drapes are old and outdated. They need to train the cleaning people better. There was dust and spider webs in our room, they didn’t leave washcloths when they cleaned the bathroom and when we called the front desk, they said they were out of washcloths. How do you allow the hotel to run out of washcloths? They also need to install sound proof windows because we could hear traffic, garbage trucks and cars honking while we were trying to sleep.

Decent Stay

The beds are super comfortable, and the rooms were very clean. However, the place was under construction, making entry and exit slightly inconvenient. There were hidden fees, added to our total after we checked out. We were supposed to get an email receipt with the breakdown of the fees and we never did. The elevators were kind of sketchy because they bounced. Parking was insanely expensive- $315 for 3 days. Great location to Times Square- only about a 5-10 minute walk.

They charge you a “destination fee” of $35 per night, which forces you to spend at their “cafeteria,” which they call Starbucks just because the coffee they serve is from Starbucks. This fee is non-refundable if you don’t spend it, so if you don’t want to lose it, you feel obliged to purchase something at the establishment, which doesn’t have much variety of options considering it is a hotel with a fairly well-known name.

Stayed with my two teenage daughters for a week. The room was spotless, the beds were incredibly comfortable and in general the hotel met all our needs. My issue was with the huge renovations that were going on in and around the hotel entrance and lobby while we there. There was no mention of this when I booked and if I had known I would have booked elsewhere. We had to use the rear entrance to the hotel and the lifts (I assume not the lifts we would use if there was no work going on) were through the restaurant. There was no lift that stopped on the lobby (ground floor) so we had to go down a set of stairs to the lower lobby each time. There were huge plastic sheets everywhere, workmen and drilling. It would have been nice if we had been offered some sort of compensation for all the inconvenience.

Credit card not accepted because Sheraton but made clients believe it was our fault. We tried 15 credit cards and only two worked. You need to sort that out. We noted other guests from other countries had same issue, so, again, not our problem but made check in stressing and waste of time. We’re not coming back. Restaurant super full, almost 1hr wait, obviously never used it. Bathroom walls are falling apart. Refurbishing works but charge you 100% service. Almost 30min at to catch an elevator.

The hotel was under construction and was reasonable to expect some difficulties in navigation. What was difficult was how many times pathways would change. There were many guests coming back after a long outing and it would change. There were attendants talking to other employees rather than help briefly navigate of sudden changes. Room service and bell hops gave more notice to the change in navigation. Overall, it was an average stay compared to previous. The hotel’s redeeming feature is the starting location to desired destinations.
