Quick NYC trip

This hotel was an affordable, convenient option for exploring Manhattan, particularly Midtown. The staff was very friendly and helpful — whether assisting us in navigating subway maps or hailing a cab on a rainy, cool morning when taxis were hard to find. Thank you!

The shower sets off the smoke alarm. Not cool. This happened to me, and two staff members confrimed that "this happens". Also, the alarm flashed periodically befinning at 5 am.

We have a child in the Bronx and one in Brooklyn, so we chose Westgate for the convenience of the commute to each place. It was great for that. It was also a really reasonable price comparatively. When we got there, the room was clean, simple, and recently renovated (especially the bathroom). The staff was efficient and very friendly. You don’t spend much time in your room in New York, but this was a comfortable one to start and end our day. The bar/coffee shop with Starbucks in the lobby was a big plus. Loved the bartenders.

I booked a room at the Westgate knowing very little about it. Selected it almost on a whim, mainly because the price was good and the location convenient. But it was a great stay, and I especially appreciated the historical setting. I knew nothing about Tudor City, and it was fascinating to learn about this historical set of buildings. Staff was friendly, room was very clean. Really nice stay all around.

Didn’t quite know what to expect with being such an older hotel, but it was very comfortable. I do not ever think it is ridiculous to charge the resort sheet under his no pool or any type of resort activities!!!

The only comment I'd like to make,but is in no way a deal-breaker for our family is the loud noise that would come from the A/C unit. The A/C unit would make a loud bang that would resemble someone knocking on the door. Not sure whether this only came from our room or if it's for every room? We stayed in room 1520.
