Was a nice hotel- the rooms were nicely set-up. However, walls and floors very thin and rooms close together. So it was quite a noisy hotel and that disrupted sleep

The balcony on the 20th floor offered a nice partial view of the East River, the street leading to it, and the street directly below. It was a very limited space balcony wide enough for two chairs and a table but no walk or standing space. Some balcony’s are different shapes and sizes. Staff were polite, helpful and friendly most of the time. Noise from mechanical workings adjacent to the room and on the roof above the room caused a lack of sleep. Staff dealt with problems by sending an engineer to check out the noise problem, and then offering a new room or small ‘maximum’ refund after exchanging several emails. The hotel apologised for the ‘inconvenience’. The siting of this hotel means that a number of police patrol helicopters survey the area during the early hours for several hours. The housekeeping staff were first rate and accepting of any requests. My friend and I made requests upon booking to be situated near each other if possible. We were five floors apart. We did not request breakfast service so are unable to comment. Two complimentary 500ml bottles of water were provided when we checked in. We had to purchase bottled water independently from local shop thereafter for the coffee machine in each of our rooms. Be aware that check out is at 12, it doesn’t leave a lot of the last day if you are on holiday.

My flight to New York got canceled at 5:07pm the day before our reservation due to weather. I called immediately and talked to several people both with the hotel and with Expedia, explained my story and was told that I would be able to receive a refund and to call back the next day if I wasn’t able to get another flight. The part of New York we were going to was flooding so unfortunately we weren’t able to book another flight, so I called back to get the refund and every single person I talked to told me no, I wouldn’t be receiving my $350+ refund. Both the hotel and Expedia continued to give me the runaround and the only “compensation” they could give me was $25 in key cash… It is absolutely heartbreaking and ridiculous that I have not and most likely will not, receive my refund ESPECIALLY in the terrible economic climate we are in. I will never attempt to stay at this hotel or being booking with Expedia again. I have tried calling several managers at both establishments and looking for emails and nothing has worked. All I can do is write this review, warn everyone about my situation and hope someone is able to reach out and help me right this situation. PS- the hotel brags about their million plus dollar renovation but won’t give back my refund… it is very disgusting.

The worst stay I’ve had in NYC. Slamming doors thru the night, as late as 130am!! Clanking sounds thru my room, sounds like pipes banging. Booked a 2 queen bed room, check in and go to room to find I have a sofa bed!! Go to front desk to inquire and am then told oh I see a note! You didn’t see a note AT CHECK IN?! Told oh sorry, we over sold those rooms! So you’re stuck with what you have Absolutely disgusting
