This is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed at. This hotel is really well thought out. It has everything we need, which is great when traveling with our 5 year old. I even like the lighting in our room, which is really hard to find. The lights are nice and warm. Anyways, great stay. The only issue is walking distance to anything. Best to have a car when staying here.

Even though the property was new, the decor seemed dated. The wallpaper in the bathroom and in the room was ugly. However, the bed was comfortable and the TV is a large flat screen with Netflix. I was impressed by the breakfast sandwich options (particularly the chorizo sausage). My wife says "excellent hotel coffee" (Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf brand). Excellent location vis a vis the OAK airport but somewhat inconvenient for restaurant options. On weekdays (M-F), there is a Harbor Bay Ferry boat service to San Francisco (only a 1 mile walk). There is a $16 parking fee for automobiles, which needs to be disclosed upfront. Overall the Home2 Suites is a nice option for staying in Alameda, particularly when the price is under $150 per night (including the parking and breakfast)!
