We checked in around midnight and were immediately given a room with an overwhelming odor of moisture and urine. The smell was so strong that it was impossible to stay in the room. We reported this to the front desk, but the staff member we spoke with was extremely unhelpful and dismissive. After some insistence, we were eventually moved to a different room. Unfortunately, the second room was not much better. While the odor was slightly improved, the room itself was very dirty. There was hair on the bathroom floor, visible insects, and clumps of hair throughout the carpet, which raised serious concerns about cleanliness and hygiene. This has been one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had through Hotels.com. We filed a claim through the app, but customer service indicated they were unable to reach any on-site management. We are still attempting to resolve this situation. Based on this experience, we would strongly advise others to avoid staying here. It’s difficult to understand how this property continues to operate given the conditions and lack of accountability.

Everything was average. I asked if they could make up the sofa bed ahead of my arrival, since I knew I would be arriving very late and tired from my flight. They acknowledged my request, but did nothing. The hotel is older and painted over (not a great paint job), many times. It is in a convenient location, good access to pretty much everything. Staff were nice.

Hotel has some renovations - our biggest areas of concern were cleanliness (lobby/breakfast areas and hallways) were very dirty, breakfast items were continually out of stock, the room itself was very hot and humid despite constantly running the AC and the water pressure is very low.

Breakfast bagels were very good. Room was a normal quick hotel stay. Hard to get ahold of someone at hotel while traveling. Ended up driving there and room not ready. Close to Universal, shopping and restaurants. Shuttle is a drop off in AM and pick PM. If not headed to area for whole day. Shuttle is a con. A reason I stayed here was for shuttle and ended up driving.

Tub and sink both did not drain while in use, blood was found on the wall in the bathroom, breakfast is very falsely advertised with very few options. Staff were not very friendly and were seen lounging on the entrance furniture upon arrival.

House keeper did not clean room well and forgot to give us towers after they left. Reception lady did not nice when we checked in and just become friendly after we showed the driver license. Overall the Spark in Houston, Texas is better than the Spark in Orlando, Florida.
