The staff were all amazing, the entertainment was wonderful both daytime at the pool and evening in the lobby. The resort itself we didn’t expect to be an older population on the adults only side but we still had fun and enjoyed ourselves. The nightclub on the family side was a hit if you wanted to experience the night life and a younger population. Only downside to the rooms were not many outlets for more than 2 guests in the room for charging devices.

I mostly enjoyed staying at the Bahia Principe Luxury Bouganville Resort. It's an all-inclusive adults only resort. This meant no noisy children running around. The staff were mostly pretty friendly, and the food was decent enough. The two swimming pools were great, a quiet pool at one end, and a louder pool at the other end. There wasn’t much to do off of the resort, and not really any good shopping in the area. Also, don't be fooled by the pictures of the water/beach area. The water is not blue, it's more of a brown color. And there were TONS of jelly fish in the water! You couldn't swim in the ocean for fear of getting stung. Another reason for my 4* review is the rooms are outdated. I had to call maintenance 4 times for issues with my shower, bath tub, and toilet. All in all we had a lovely week, but I probably won't come back to this resort next time.

Although the rooms are slightly dated, the property is absolutely beautiful. The grounds are very well maintained and the staff are very friendly. Outstanding staff were Captain Juan Adolfo Flopentine, Marien De Leon Paulpno and Pedro Arpsmendy , both of the tropical pool side bar (at the quiet pool). There are 2 pools. One called the quiet pool and one the loud pool. At the loud pool there are games and music all day. THE of the best tips that I can give is one given to me at the desk while trying to make dinner reservations. They will only give you 3 dinner reservations at their restaurants. I was told that the restaurants open at 6 PM. You can go to the restaurant at 6 PM and tell them that you have no reservation, but could they please seat you. It worked every single time and we had gourmet food at every restaurant every single night. Enjoy.

I don't feel like they cared much about the guests once they checked in and if you had any questions, it would take a couple days to get an answer. The workers at the shops on the resort were rude. I won't return to this resort.

Staff were excellent despite language issues. I applaud that some were somewhat able to speak in 2-3 languages, although some spoke no english. Rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade, especially the bath rooms. Beach was okay but the water was murky. I was told it is clearer on the Atlantic side of the island. Beach is also adjacent to the "noisy pool" so there was very little quiet time. Grounds are well kept. Also, you're not supposed to flush any paper, so there's that to deal with.

The entertainment was amazing! Especially Mickey Mouse, Anjelo and Tinkerbell! The WIFI and app worked very poorly and made it difficult to make reservations. The concierge had to book multiple reservations for us due to this issue and then the restaurants would sometimes not even have our reservation when we showed up!
