Nice resort, but with some issues

An amazing resort with lots to experience. They had good shows, nice drinks from thr various bars. The two issues I had were: 1. The bellboys were always expecting a tip for anything they did. 2. The outrageous stress of getting a taxi to pick you up from the hotel.

The design of this resort is amazing!! The rooms were very spacious and the amenities offered were wonderful. The outside jacuzzi tub was a great addition, but it was slightly in disrepair. The resort had many items that needed maintenance. The ice machine by our room was not working. We had no hot water for about 1/2 a day. Pricing for American tourists outside of the resort was ridiculous...for pretty much everything. I'd recommend to actually stay within the resort for your whole stay, and avoid excursions. We had 1 kinda good, and 1 horrible excursion. The food at the resort was delicious, but the buffets had insects (maybe to be expected with so much outdoors, but I would hope they could figure out some repellents). The entertainment that they offered as part of being all-inclusive was very good!

Majestic Mirage Punta Cana is a gorgeous property with breathtaking grounds and excellent food. Our room was comfortable, and both the steakhouse and Japanese restaurant were highlights. Unfortunately, the service did not always meet expectations. Our assigned butler was rarely present and provided little assistance, which made the experience less personalized than we had hoped. Overall service also felt inconsistent and at times overly focused on tips. On one occasion, a waiter even attempted to serve food with used utensils, which was disappointing. That said, some staff in the restaurants and spa were excellent, showing professionalism and warmth that stood out from the rest. In summary, the hotel itself is beautiful and the food is excellent, but the service culture — especially the butler experience — needs improvement, particularly for guests who don’t speak Spanish.
