Lovely hotel in the middle of the main shopping areas Close to great restaurants and bars and the bus pick up for tours and transfers only a few minutes walk away. Hotel really lovely and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Visiting for partners 50th and they left a surprise gift for us in the room. Will definitely return if I visit Reykjavik again.

I didn’t get a phone plan for my stay in Iceland. The property provided a phone that could be used for making calls as well as internet access during my stay. The breakfast buffet had a great selection and i had no issues with finding something I could eat with my long list of food allergies. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

We reserved this property several months ago through Expedia. When we attempted to check in ( a few minutes early), we were told that they did not have room because they overbooked. We explained to them that we were staying at the hotel with other family members and booked at the exact same time. They were very apologetic and set us up in an even nicer hotel in a suite, with comped breakfast, and paid for a taxi. While this ended up being fine and we appreciated how much they tried to accommodate us, the lack of communication beforehand was completely unacceptable.

Had a lovely stay for the three nights we were in Reykjavik. The hotel is conveniently situated just outside the city centre and therefore really walkable to everything. Thoroughly enjoyed using the hot tub, sauna and fitness suite although the treadmill was out of order. The staff were all friendly and the hotel very clean. Would stay again if visiting the city.

Not Bad but not amazing!

I’ve got real mixed views about Alda, positives are the location is brilliant, the reception and bar area give a great first impression but the standard rooms are looking tired and need some TLC. We were asked to upgrade to a suite on our last night to help the hotel out with an issue they had with another room, the suite was amazing and it was like we’d been transported to another hotel, things we didn’t have like a Wardrobe and kettle (the basics) were in the suite, if your budget stretches then definitely do the suite option. Staff were mixed with some very friendly but some couldn’t even be bothered to lift their heads when you walked in, sauna and hot tub are limited, the hot tub is small and overlooked by other guest with cars parked the other side of the wall. Cleaners were limited in what they did, floors were never swept or hoovered in the 5 nights we stayed but beds were made and the bathroom was cleaned daily. In general we had a great time and would return but mainly due to the location and nice feel around the reception and bar area.
