This hostel has a great location near a geothermal park and feels more modern than others, though the toilets and showers could use an update. The spacious common area makes it easy to meet other travelers. My twin private room was tidy and well-presented, with a handy hanging area. Parking is on the street and paid during business hours, but I had no trouble finding a spot.
The first night was fine, but the room got very hot in the afternoon and evening. There's no AC, which feels outdated, though fans are available on request. I left the window open to cool off, but that meant dealing with noise from the common area and the gate slamming shut—despite a sign, few seem to notice. Adding rubber or a soft-close mechanism would help, especially for nearby rooms.
The biggest issue was noise from neighboring rooms. Despite a "quiet time," it wasn’t enforced, and the place seemed unstaffed at night. One room blasted music until 9 AM, while another group returned at 3:30 AM, talking loudly. The walls offer little soundproofing—I’ve slept better in dorms. There’s no way to report noise unless it’s an emergency, and the emergency line warns of charges for non-urgent calls.
Overall, the hostel has good features, but I’d look elsewhere next time due to the noise and lack of staff presence.
