We splashed out and stayed in the Elegant Gentleman room. It was huge and definitely we didn’t have to worry about where to put our cases! However, despite the size of the room there was no wardrobe to hang clothes which seemed a bit ironic given the name of the room! The room was comfortable though with a view over to the mountains. Breakfast was good - buffet with lots of choice. Wifi was rubbish and the shower was quite weak and took ages to get hot - after finally working out where hot was. Also I didn’t like the manager (?) on reception. I asked him a question about San Jose and before he answered he wanted to know our room number and then i had to confirm my name and then he couldn’t answer the question anyway!

Great location for a short stay in San Jose. Near shopping and can walk almost everywhere in town. Rooms were clean and people were friendly. Breakfast buffet was ok not great. We ordered pancakes but got completely forgotten until after waited a long time and we asked and they were like oh you want to order pancakes? No one was apologetic at all; just order now why complain ? Still, good place to stay even with ‘I’m always right’ breakfast staffs…

This was a very hospitable, happy hotel. All the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean and spacious, dinner was tasty and breakfast had lots of choices. We really enjoyed our stay.

Super cute Hotel looks a little sketchy feom the outside because its in downtown San Jose. We went walking to a nearby restaurant and honestly everyone in Costa Rica is very nice and respectful. The Hotel is super cute tge staff is so friendly. They have the best breakfast in the morning!

Beautiful room and beautiful hotel. They were attentive and fit my specific needs. I was looking for a place to relax where I did not have to leave. Beautiful old building turned into a nice hotel. The roof top restaurant was excellent. We ate there 4 out of 5 nights we were there. However they refused to honor my Orbitz VIP status so breakfast was not included in my stay. They charge $18 a person for an extremely plain breakfast buffet that’s worth maybe half that amount. We walked around the corner to another hotel for better breakfast food at half the price.
