Welcome to The Blue Hereon Cottage - the perfect retreat to explore
quietness, relaxation, and serenity, all while rejuvenating your self
and family. Nestled on a quiet lot on Stony Lake in Benona Township,
Michigan, this cottage offers its visitors endless options for a stay to
remember.
Wake up refreshed in this six bedroom (king bed in each), two bath rental and head to the back deck with coffee in hand to soak up the beauty that surrounds you. This cottage is perfect for your family get together. Don’ t be surprised to see lots of wildlife,including eagles and swans.

Lake Michigan is just a short drive away and experience some of the
best sunsets that Michigan has to offer. Rafting from Stony Lake to
Lake Michigan is fun adventure that guests may also want to schedule
during their stay.
Silver Lake is a short 15 minute drive away, adding a lot more
excitement and activities that will quickly fill your days. The lighthouse
and dune rides are a must – showcasing Michigan’s sprawling beaches.
Come back to sit by the fire, making smores, creating those
memories.
On the main floor there is a large kitchen and dining area with large table. The living room is large with fantastic views. There are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Off the back is a huge deck, partially covered. There is a grill and a Blackstone griddle for cooking outside. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms with king beds, a bathroom, and a large gathering area for games or just looking at the view.
The Blue Heron is a perfect fit for families looking for a retreat to
relax and enjoy the long days of summer.

Property was poorly maintained…needs a thorough cleaning. A lot of overgrowth around the house leaving pathes inaccessible to backyard. Grill & Blackstone were unusable. Broken & unusable furniture. This could be a beautiful place but needs TLC. Will not return or recommend.

Unusable Blackstone grill w/ mouse droppings & rust.
Broken chair
Bedroom dresser that was unusable due to No handles.

Our stay was beyond amazing. The home was perfect for our family of ten. (5 grown, a baby, 3 teens, and a young child). We had plenty of room to relax and spread out without feel cramped. The evenings were beautiful with a spectacular view from nearly every window and the back deck. The location is perfect: secluded enough to feel private yet only a short 3 miles to the main public beach. The home has several boats and a dock for fishing to use as well as a fire pit. The communication with the owners was great. They were responsive and sweet. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful sanctuary

Amazing house set on a quiet hill overlooking Stony Creek and the edge of the lake. Beautiful and serene. A bald eagle sat outside near the deck for hours. Really a pristine spot, and the owner was great.

overall a great time

overall it was a beautiful place to stay , we had 4 adults and 5 kids ranging from 9 to 15 years old ,some things that were listed on the place were not there cable tv and internet (not deal breakers) no easy access to the water as listed , big thing was that there was no a/c or heat in the home (thank god for great weather or this could have been a huge problem ) in speaking with the owner i advised him of some of our concerns and he said that this is his first time as a host and that he would address them. if renting please make sure to ask a lot of questions as i did not, overall i would recomond this home as i do belive that things would be better if the owner had put these things in the disription . this is a beautiful area and it did not diminish our trip

Peaceful and spacious :)

We loved the property, deck view, and close proximity to Lake Michigan! Our household got together with my parents and my sister’s family (10 total) and it was a perfect size house / location for some nice time all together. My husband said it was the best deck view ever - seeing lots of different birds! Definitely would book here again!
