Although the weather was often cold and wet, the host had no control. Although this did have some influence on our stay, the following is provided while attempting to disregard the weather conditions. However, our perspective is influenced by our amenities at home and experience of having lived in Germany.
While considering this apartment, one may want to be aware that it is hardly suitable for anyone challenged by stairs. The sole entry level provision is for shoes and coats. Slippers are provided to minimize the potential marring of the floors. The second floor provides you with dining best suited for a maximum of 4 adults. The living room is also sufficient for 4 adults although the level of seating comfort over an extended period will be disappointing. The balcony is adequate for two with a view to the church bell tower about 50 yards away and to a scenic ridge line above the roof tops of your neighbors. A nicely equipped bath is on this floor convenient to a bedroom that has a wardrobe for hanging your clothes. The kitchen is adequate by European standards. You may find yourself, as we did, visiting the kitchen often in order to gain internet access to the server located with the host in their adjacent home, where you will also find the clothes washer.
Going up to the third floor provided access to the Master Bedroom, another bedroom and the reading area. Although this set of stairs may not meet US building code, it is not an obstacle for most people but a consideration should one want to use the bathroom on the lower level during the night. You may, also, find it more convenient to unpack on the second floor bedroom where your clothes can be stored rather than remaining in your suitcase.
One last point, should you have a large auto, parking on the street will be your best option. It is only about a 30 yard walk from the street to the apartment entrance and parking there was never an issue.
Waldenbuch and this apartment is a nice place to stay for short periods, especially your manage your expectations based on an appreciation for the Swabish culture.
