New but Cheap Build

I have stayed at LaQuinta's. This one seemed so "cheaply" build. The bathroom was horrible and cracks everywhere. It is a new building. The bed was not very comfortable. The common space was nice and clean. The staff were nice and helpful. They can't help it if the contractor didn't do a good job. We won't stay at this one again.

There was no hot water, trashed room, broken tiles and broken sink, dents and dings in the wall. When this was booked, Expedia said we would not have to pay until we checked in which worked great as my husband was traveling back from a funeral and we weren’t going to be paying for the room, his grandpa was going to. So now we are out money we weren’t planning on using. Also after a snow storm, normally it is required to have cleared sidewalks and entry ways, but the parking lot wasn’t salted and the parking spots were completely iced over, the entry way was super slick. Which when traveling with an elderly person makes for a potential lawsuit if they fall. I will be going through the ropes to get a refund because that is unacceptable.

Needs minor improvements

Overall I would stay here again. Staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a good sleection of breakfast items; waffle station, yogurt, apples/oranges, instant oatmeal, muffins, toast/bagels, eggs, sausage links coffee station,and a juice station. They even offer sugar free syrup. I will say the cleanliness in the common areas was great, but in the room it left something to be desired. I had a stained towel and stained coverlet, the shower/mirrors had some minor smudges, and you could tell they hadn't fully cleaned the bathroom cabinet/sink area in awhile, especially under it. The worst part was the condition of the ceiling in the bathroom from the moisture (it was peeling really badly). However to end on a positive note, I'm also thankful they didn't cheapen the bathroom products they provide. (They use dove products.)
