Solo traveller. Excellent stay for four nights. Staff so helpful, room clean and quiet. Lovely views over the square. Not a lot of outside noise surprised how quiet it was. Breakfast was great! GF choices also. Fresh omelettes made to order. Divine cocktails in the lobby bar! Loved my stay here will definitely be back!

The hotel is advertised as 5 star but I wouldn’t necessarily say it was 5 star. Reception area, bar and restaurant all lovely. Rooms are a bit tired and dated. Mould on the grout in the shower. Shower flooded the bathroom each time. Pillows were horrendously uncomfortable but we requested replacements and were given contoured firmer pillows. Pool area is also a bit tired looking. The pool was advertised as heated but was freezing. No shade on the pool deck either which wasn’t great for a 34 degree day. Breakfast was great with a good selection which was regularly replenished. Staff in general were very friendly and helpful throughout. Location is great with a tram stop opposite, buses available a few minutes away, the markets behind the hotel and bars/restaurants close by, including Chinatown around the corner. I’d stay here again.

I booked a stay and had to cancel due to a genuine emergency. My booking was still two weeks away, and I never stayed at the hotel. Despite explaining the situation, I was refused a refund and lost $600. For a hotel of this standard, I expected more understanding and better customer service. I understand policies, but this experience felt extremely unfair and disappointing. I would not recommend this hotel due to their lack of empathy and poor handling of my situation
