We tried to check in an hour earlier on our way to White Sands National Park so we didn't have to go to the NP Visitors Center and then cone back to the hotel, but we had no luck in that endeavor. We w we re asked to come back at 4pm! Before we left we were asked whether we preferred lower or upper level room - we requested lower level. When we did eventually come back to check in, we were asked whether we preferred lower or upper level - ugh... anyway, we were assigned rokm 100, right by the main boulevard!!! When we asked for something else in the lower level, we were told room 100 was the last lower level room! Yes, it was noisy by the road. The EV charger on the premises was broken. For breakfast, we ordered off the classic menu, which was perfect!

Room was seriously underfurnished. One bed, one desk chair. No place to sit except the bed which was so high off the floor that it was impossible to sit on w/o climbing into it. Did really appreciate the freezer in the fridge. Water pressure was poor but hot! Microwave turntable didn't turn. But all in all, an OK value for the cost. Since I try to support older motels that are not chains and those that open to the outdoors, I would stay here again.

Perfect location at this friendly retro motel just a few minutes from White Sands National Park! The staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was fresh and tasty! We loved that they have plastic sleds to borrow at the park (this saved us fifty dollars!) this place exceeded our expectations.
