Perfect location in Barcelona!!

Checkin was a breeze and they securely stored my luggage for 4 hours so I could check out the city. Room was basic, but well kept up, quiet with only 8 rooms per floor, and front desk staff gave me Metro/Bus map and good recommendations for restaurants. The La Rambla Blvd is nothing less than spectacular!! Lots of foot traffic, great places to eat, and an amazing and huge open air market that included restaurants all under cover. Metro Subway system is a breeze, easy to navigate, and felt safe other than the scammers who want to be all nice to help you buy a ticket in the machine then expect you to pay them … luckily I didn’t have any cash on me so I didn’t have to lie :-) Hotel was no frills - no frig, all the TV channels were in Spanish, and no ESPN etc that you can usually get in other countries. No wash cloths in the bathroom which I thought was weird, but it is perfectly located as a hub to the city … and removed enough to be very quiet!!

I was very disappointed on our 3 night stay. We don’t have an air conditioning working. Talked to front desk staff and he keeps on resetting power to the unit which did not work right. I had him address the issue to the manager which the manager did not take action about the issue nor a maintenance came to check the problem. I am demanding a compensation. Will email the manager as what the front desk staff suggested.

The room smelled like weed as soon as we got inside, when we asked to switch room, the receptionist said he couldn’t help us and that the hotel was fully booked. He said there’s no help at night and to wait till the next day. I tried to explain to him that the smell was so strong, but he looked at me nonchalantly and basically told me to sleep it off. When I got inside the room I checked the website to check in again for the same room and it says there were still a couple rooms left in the hotel. They were definitely dishonest and seemed lazy to help out. This was the worst customer service and hotel you can pay for around the area. The room was literally like a box, it was very claustrophobic in there even though it says it was good for 2 people. Then again around 7am I woke up to a very strong cigarette smell, I literally tried to ignore it by sleeping under the blanket for half an hour until I decided it’s better to just wake up and get out of there. If you have asthma or have breathing problems DO NOT COME HERE, they don’t care about your health. They just want your money. Might as well spend extra for comfort and great service elsewhere. The pictures was also very misleading. The receptionist working were not equipped with proper skills on how to handle the situation, even when I spoke to someone the next day she didn’t offer even an apology. Management needs to do better by training their staffs. Stay away.
