Pet friendly, quieter, expansive 4 star resort with very friendly staff from front desk to bartender/restaurant staff, room service staff. Beautifully maintained historical property w/oldest mural in San Diego County (can be viewed in Fox themed bar). Cool off in your choice of several pools & hot tubs to use. Rooms & bathrooms are large with very comfy beds. Great A/C. Rooms are surrounding pools so it makes for easy access. Only complaint is small portion of certain menu items that are overly priced such as $22 for a tiny caprese salad. Other than that, great place!!

Relaxed and restored

Excellent for our annual 2 night birthday getaway. Beautiful grounds and architecture. Clean rooms and comfortable furniture. Didn't use the fireplace. TV didn't work and no one came to fix it when requested. Wonderful restaurant food but not such good service in the Fox Bar. Lots to do with pickleball, bocce, ping pong, tennis and more but it was pretty hot this October so we didn't do much outside. Still, we had a great time!

This is our 2nd year of staying here and we will be booking soon for next year. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The suites were very big and comfortable. It was so convenient to walk out the back door and right to the pool area. We can't wait to return again!

A lovely location with lots to explore and the grounds are well maintained. The rooms are large and clean. Unfortunately, the fireplaces in the rooms don't work and there is no daily room cleaning; thus, you run out of coffee and water if you stay for more than one day. I'd pay more to have the room cleaned every day--we are on vacation! Also, the room has no robes. The viewing platform in the center of the property has been closed off for a long time.

We planned to visit the spa but only learned the day before our arrival it was closed. Ice machine didn't work in the building so we were told to call and ask the front desk. It never came so the next day we were given a bucket of ice. Beds were very comfortable. The pool was cleaned daily and the hot tub was great.

Check-in professional was through, knowledgeable, and very friendly when we came to the desk. She handled an issue we had with the A/C in our room quickly and completely, even offering a substitute room if our A/C couldn't be easily fixed. Excellent bar and bartender. Largest challenge was finding one's way around and out of the large property.. Otherwise, a great place. Our second visit there, and probably not our last.

Disappointment

The lobby staff were less than helpful. They infrequently did not answer the phone when I called concerning issues with my room or more fresh towels. You had to request things multiple times. Our bathtub was broken, our phone did not work, and the outdoor chairs were in horrible disrepair

What a beautiful, fantastic hotel. Desert vibe. Lots of room choices, including casitas. Plenty of swimming pools and jacuzzis. Service was excellent for the most part. However a couple of comments will follow. Bartender was great (don't recall the name at this time). Areas for improvement. At least one water feature/pond needs work. It is green and full of algae. The text system with the front desk needs work. I wasn't able to get through for the first 24 hours and no answer when I called the front desk. Left message to no avail. Luckily the text system started working on the 2nd day. My showerhead had a bad seal and sprayed water all the way to the sink over the shower enclosure. Internet went out for a few hours on the 2nd morning of our stay. Beyond that, great stay!

Hotel is an oasis in the desert. The rooms were cool & the pool lovely. It was out of season when we visited so the dining options were limited but tasty.
