We had an amazing stay for our anniversary, couldn’t fault anything it was great! The food incredible, we had two breakfasts and two dinners it was that good! The staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough for us and the room was lovely, we had a great view of the gardens! The location plus all of the above we felt was great value for money and we are already missing our stay in the New Forest! Would definitely recommend!

Well situated for several walks and into the village of Brockenhurst the hotel is safe and comfortable. Stayed previously and had a much nicer room than this time so must ensure early booking, but felt it was ‘luck of the draw’ which is not what you want when booking a hotel room. Room looked nothing like the photos on the website for that category of room. Bed not very comfortable and wooden blinds were broken so couldn’t block out morning light. Toilet flush was also ‘dodgy’, but as I say am very aware that other rooms are much better. Didn’t have breakfast in hotel as felt £16 each was steep ( and couldn’t fathom out why it was £18 each if you didn’t book the day before??) Plenty of alternative choices in the village. Tried to have an evening meal but again without booking you can’t even eat in the bar - find it annoying that preference not given to hotel guests and that you have to book in the bar area when there is an appointed restaurant?! Explained all above to management on our departure and have to say they were very understanding and accommodating. Would probably return but would not have such high expectations next time.

We really enjoyed our stay. The bar staff were excellent, really know their cocktails and gins. Had a delicious afternoon tea with gin tasting. All absolutely beautiful. Hotel is very comfortable and location great. Room was spacious although just a classic.

Amazing hotel

From check in to check out it was a wonderful experience. The staff are so friendly and knowledgable. The food is amazing. My room was warm, clean and very comfortable. As a solo female I felt very safe here

Beautiful hotel

I love it here! The staff are excellent. The hotel is beautiful, as soon as you walk in the door there's an open fire and it smells gorgeous. The food is excellent, especially the breakfast. Room 8 could do with a new mattress and pillows though

We booked again because our last stay was so lovely, but this time the service was no way as good, especially service in the bar area @ the tables, 3/4 different staff taking order/serving/billing, forgetting items, the hot breakfast wasnt hot, we could hear everyone above us in the room, plus we could hear the kitchen staff & everyone who came into reception. We went away to recharge but it was stressful.

A must stay

I love this hotel. Beautiful location, smells amazing as soon as you walk in the door, lovely staff (Mandie on reception) and the breakfast is so good. Only very slight criticism would be that the pillows were a bit lumpy. Other than that 10/10

We stayed in room 109. It’s was a lovely big room and much nicer than expected, however, you could hear the music from the restaurant. It wasn’t loud, but quiet, constant bass. Funny thing is the music in the restaurant wasnt at all loud, it was just unfortunate the sounds travelled upwards. This wouldn’t put me off staying again.

Lovely place.

What a lovely place. Old building but beautifully kept, clean rooms stocked generously and every facility you’ll need. Not ruthlessly efficient but a real nice homely feel. The classy Xmas decs were an example of how they do tjings properly. When the only complaint is that they had run out of Horlicks it has to be good.
