We had our dog with us so we were given an older room that was poorly remodeled. I found dirty towels hanging on the bathroom door. There was a piece of the metal bed frame sticking out and I almost cut my leg on it. There were dead bugs in the light cover. This room was right next to highway so very noisy at night. This room was not cheap! I will not stay there again.

The elevator almost never worked and when it did - it made this extremely loud noise and shook like there was an earthquake. The room was filthy, the tub didn’t drain either. The staff was very nice though.

I arrived at check-in time and was asked to return in 20 minutes as the room had not been cleaned. The condition of the tub was disgusting. It was cracked, not clean, and in very bad shape, caulking in mounds around the soap dish, the tub was in very poor condition and there were ants. I was given another room and the tub was in bad shape, the room had a odd order and the air conditioning was VERY loud. I didn't want to stay, but they told they would charge me for the night and I would have to get a refund from the company in which I booked

Generally good, the staff are diligent, attentive, and friendly. The kids loved the pool and the free breakfast. The housekeepers and maintenance workers did a good job, but the building is old and many minor but important things need repair, such as loose door handles and security locks, shower curtain rod loose, bugs in the bathtub, ants on the floor and carpet, noisy a/c unit, broken switch on the guest washing machine, etc. Colchester is a tourist town so room rates in summer are inflated, but even so, this was not a $240 per night facility. With tourists and construction workers this place was fully occupied, so the corporation is making money but not investing in the property.

Extremely Disappointing Stay

Upon arrival, we witnessed the manager in a heated argument with another guest over their stay, which should have been our first warning. Our room was in unacceptable condition: visibly dirty, with black mold present, and none of the amenities matched what was advertised on Hotels.com. The pool didn't have enough water in it, the toilet was barely secured and ran continuously for 30 minutes after each flush, and at 12:45 AM, the old, rusted air conditioner seized up and emitted a loud, high-pitched squeal that made it impossible to sleep. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough to warrant one. I would not recommend staying here unless it’s an absolute last resort.

No soap for the sink or shower. There was a dispenser for hand lotion, nest to the sink where one would expect soap. The shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the shower were empty. The bed sheets had old stains on them. The door to our room was not hung properly and stuck. The only elevator would stop working periodically and someone from the front desk had to go to the control panel to flip a switch.
