Kona Mauna Kai on toimiva maatila Mauna Loan rinteillä Havaijin isolla saarella. Mauna Kai tarkoittaa vuoria ja valtamerta ja juuri sen saat maatilamme. 180 asteen näkymät kauniille Konan rannikolle.
Tilalla kasvatamme avokadoa, macadamiapähkinöitä ja Kona-kahvia, appelsiineja, sitruunoita, limejä, mandariineja, banaaneja, guaavia, loquattia ja monia muita. Kauden aikana on aina tuoretuotteita. Kävele hedelmätarhojen läpi ja katso mitä kukkii.
Maalaistalomökistä on upea 180 asteen näkymä kauniille Konan rannikolle. Nauti illallisesta viileässä vuoristoilmassa katsomassa hämmästyttävää auringonlaskua. Katsele loistavia tähtiä ja rentoudu lepotuolissa. Kävele tonttia ja nauti trooppisista kukista ja istutuksista. Saatat jopa nähdä fasaaniperheen tekevän kierroksensa tai villi kalkkunan, joka hirvii läpi.
Maalaistalo mökki voi nukkua 2. Täysin kunnostettu maksimaalisen mukavuuden saavuttamiseksi trooppisessa maatilassa. Täysin erillinen omistajan talosta on oma sisäänkäynti ja kaunis katettu Lanai kuisti.
Kona Mauna Kai sijaitsee erinomaisella paikalla nauttimaan saaren eteläpäästä. Vain 33 mailia Punalu'un mustan hiekkarannan rannalta. Vain 32 mailin päässä Papakolean vihreästä hiekkarannasta. Honomalino Beach 6 mailin päässä tilasta.
Se on myös loistava paikka pysähtyä ja levätä Konan ja Helon välillä ennen kuin lähdet seuraavaan seikkailuosi.

Lovely piece of authentic Hawaii - thank you. 5*plus

Wonderful hospitality and great clean accommodation with good amenities. We could have spent all day just sitting on the deck with the fabulous views and listening to the glorious birdsong and nature all around us. There is comfortable indoor seating and TV but we never used it as sitting on the Lanai was so lovely. Don’t worry about aircon as there was always a cool breeze and we never even put the fan on. Heather and Adam have thought of everything from beach chairs, binoculars and cool bags etc. I like to be honest and helpful so - if you love nature you will absolutely love it here but you will be awoken early with the sounds of cockerels and dogs. For us the benefits far far outweighed anything and nothing ear plugs couldn’t sort. Thank you Heather

Great taste of Rural Hawaii

Nice working farm. Well manicured property, with a great ocean view. Its is a good (slow) distance on a winding road, to any activities. It is a good location for west side activities and access to the Volcano National Park.

Gorgeous setting

What a stunningly beautiful location! It was hard to leave the covered porch with the unobstructed view of the ocean and the serenading by birds and assorted wildlife. We got to enjoy fresh avocados grown on the property, which added to the delight.

Authentic Hawaiin Hideaway

This property encapsulates the Hawaiin spirit - beautiful wildflowers, fruit trees, animals, song birds with a view of the ocean. Away from people, yet not far from Kona, the Black Sand beach or National Park. We loved It here. The owners picked a fresh bouquet of flowers for us and oranges from their trees.

Wonderful views!

Host is right next door and lovely - met us, let us in and showed us the place. Views are incredible. Great little farm, fresh fruit awaited us, as did lovely Pipi the cat. Bed was comfy. Nice shower. Enjoyed all the farm animals and native birds flying around. Would stay again.

A great place to stage your visit to the Big Island

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at this very clean farm type cottage. Yes... it is an hour from Kona, but a perfect place to stage up while you visit the island. The Captain Cook area provides plenty of meal options. Nearby beaches, Lava Tubes and halfway to Hawaii Volcano's National Park gives you lots of opportunities to explore the youngest of the Hawaiian Islands. Our host was never intrusive but always provided help when needed.

Hidden Gem

We booked our stay at the cottage knowing that we would be off the beaten path. And it was the perfect location with the most gracious host, beautiful views, and cozy atmosphere. Not to mention the freshly roasted mac nuts and organic produce waiting for us. We hope to come back again soon!

Off the Beaten Path in a Good Way

If you are looking for a busy resort experience, this is not it! This is the opposite of that. Farm animals, pets, fresh produce, gorgeous views. A true South Kona country experiece.

Volcanic Get Away

This lovely farm cottage was a perfect place to relax after exploring the incredibly diverse island of Hawaii. It is situated off the beaten track of Kona and the resort areas but conveniently enough to the Volcano National park, South Point, and Black Sand Beach. Couldn’t ask for nicer hosts. Really enjoyed fresh fruit from the farm and hope to visit again in the future.

Rural Hawaii stay

We stayed at this property for 10 days in Oct and had a marvelous time. Pros: - very clean - nice touches like good quality draperies, dishes and bedding, good appliances and well stocked kitchen. It is not fancy, but nice - good communication with hosts; friendly people but not intrusive - jaw dropping panorama views of the lush slope, with the ocean beyond and magical sunsets - veranda is not pictured in the photos and it was better than expected: quite large with decent furniture including small dining table as well as coffee table and chairs, and 2 comfy lounge chairs. - Even if it was 29 or 30 degrees celsius during the day, it cooled off nicely at night. In fact some nights we had to close the windows as it was a bit too cool for us. I wished I had brought a sweater for the evenings, but there were blankets in a trunk - this is a rural area so you will hear frogs, neighborhood dogs, goats/ sheep bleating. With the dawn the roosters start to crow. What you won't hear is annoying people noise. Cons: - The road to Kona is a very curvy, but has reflectors which makes it doable in the dark. Arriving late in the dark it was a bit tricky finding the right door -if you plan to see Volcano Park / S Point, as well as Kona this is a great halfway point. If you plan to do most of your activities in the Kona area or N, expect to drive that curvy road alot. Affordable groceries were an hour north. Our favorite beach was Kahalu'u, which was 45 min north.

Great Stay

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here. Host was responsive and easy to communicate with. House was great with an amazing view. Their pets were friendly and always welcomed us back to the house. Would definitely recommend this place.

Farm in South Hawaii

Delightful and cozy little home on a small organic farm was a perfect contrast to the usual resort stay. The seclusion and morning views of the ocean were wonderful. Good bed, good WiFi, well -equipped kitchen and friendly pets made us feel at home. Our hosts were friendly and helpful!

Fabulous!

The cottage is comfortable, the location is peaceful, and the view is amazing! We had a great time and we highly recommend this if you prefer to stay somewhere outside of the crowded, touristy areas.

Wonderful and close to nature!

We had a lovely, relaxing stay here. The view from the farm cottage in unparalleled. Hosts were welcoming and wonderful. Home is clean and well stocked, even with beach gear! It was nice to be close to farms, nature, beaches and fresh produce in South Kona. Highly recommend!

Convenient and modern - but warm

The VRBO was a 20 min drive to Hilo and not far from other places we wanted to visit. It had everything we needed, but does not have air conditioning. From what we understand thats fairly common on the island, but even with the two fans it was still uncomfortably hot.

Get away from the crowds for a more peaceful experience.

On the south side this is a great place to stay. You can check out the South Unit of Volcano NP Th-Sun. Also close enough to the main NP unit. Hike to Holomolokini beach (be respectful of locals-park a bit up the road at picnic benches and realize its through a forest and your feet may get wet-an ‘adventure’). The pets were also a highlight and we loved chilling on the lanai with wonderful ocean views while petting them. Host was more then gracious. Get a more hawaiian experience!

Instant Relaxation

The property is gorgeous and lush. The view is beautiful from both inside and outside on the porch. Be sure to be home for at least one sunset, it's stunning! The hosts were super welcoming and attentive. The space was spacious, clean, and comfortable. If you're looking for a beautiful relaxing property, this is it!

Natural beauty... not a resort!

We enjoyed our stay here. Its an older home built in the 1940s so it gives you a true sense of an all natural Hawaiian lifestyle. The owners were wonderful and the farm truly is a beautiful work in progress. The kitties came to visit daily and as we have fur babies too, we loved them all. Their puppy was so cute and funny! We saw the little newborn lamb who was absolutely adorable. Please be aware, if you are a person who prefers hotel service, then stay at a hotel. However, if you want real Hawaiian kindness and a beautiful view of the Pacific, this is the place for you! Hoku and Adam are simply wonderful down to earth people. A great place to stay.
