Very useful having a fridge and microwave for reheating those leftover steak and deep dish dinners! Also good size safe for storing a laptop. Only issue was with the breakfast - should check what the breakfast coupons are good for. There was a standard option with oatmeal, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and bread options. Then getting OJ or a waffle seemed to be an extra charge.

The rooms were beautiful and very well updated. The hotel is only a 20 minute walk from Navy Pier with plenty of great dining options around. The Red Line station is steps from the front door which made everything very accessible.

The hotel was right on the Grand station, CTA Red Line. It was convenient to travel from airport to the hotel. The area in in downtown with easy access to restaurants, and Mag Miles. There was Jewel Osco nearby. The only concern I had was that there were no stairs (only emergency stairs) in the hotel. One time the elevator made a noise and shake, and returned to the first floor. I was scared and wanted to stairs which was not an option.

Noisy but Good Value

The A/C worked great, the beds were comfortable, all staff we interacted with were helpful. Housekeeping was offered every other day. Our only complaint is that it was very noisy from the typical downtown street sounds - sirens, honking, engines revving down the street. Earplugs are a must. We weren't expecting much given this was one of the cheaper options downtown but it was a good value. The location right on the Red line and close to Michigan Ave was very convenient.

The gentleman who was the luggage holder was extremely friendly and the housekeeping was good. The property was very clean. The front desk wasn’t helpful nor friendly.

I’ve stayed at plenty of HGI’s. This is probably the most unpleasant one. The bed was uncomfortable and, the room seemed pretty outdated. The water in the room was extremely hot, I burned myself in the shower. Overall, I was hoping for a better experience.
