Staff was friendly which is the best thing I can say. . However the property is very outdated. Musty smell, warped floor in the hallway. Our room was passable for one night but my relative’s room was horrible with holes in the carpet and wall and an anthill in the carpet. No coffee made in the breakfast area at 7:30 am. I would not stay again.

VERY DIRTY! Tv doesn’t work, lamp shade broke, bath tub broke, found hair every where, no coffee pot but the rest of the coffee thing was there, the toilet would run off and on a lot, nail sticking out of wall, hole in wall, half used conditioner bottle and yeah don’t eat there breakfast very dirty down there

The photo of smoke detector is the second better room. Arrival was rough to check in it took the clerk a longg time and not because he was busy First room - others food in fridge and trash, toilet didn’t flush. Second room - no smoke detector, black marks on sheets Neither room had a proper blanket just a sheet and the decorative piece thin as a sheet. There were mattresses in the hall and a stove outside on the sidewalk. Being the only hotel in town I hope they can improve. It was ROUGH and I’ve been some rough places.

This hotel was the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever been at. Floor, bathroom and toilet were really dirty, there was a huge spider web everywhere. I don’t recommend staying there.

The room was nice and clean, however the shower curtain and hand towel was stained and seemed dirty and there must be a leak up above our room because the ceiling in the shower was dripping cold water and looked as tho it was sagging

Room was filthy and had what appeared to be blood stains on the bedding. Desk staff was rude and/or unattentive,nthe toilet wasn’t working, walls were stained and damaged, floor had stains, it smelled bad, stains in the shower, leftover food sitting in the fridge in the room when we arrived, just gross. Upon check in, my card was “declined” but I was still charged and I showed the front desk person and what I got was “I don’t have your money”. So I had her run my card again and it went through, so I was double charged, and I tried to talk to the front desk and she didn’t want to hear it. But the real issues I have are with cleanliness and the rudeness of the staff. I’ve used Choice Hotels frequently over the years but this stay at the Maquoketa IA Econolodge was very unpleasant.

Hotel was in poor condition with poorly done repairs and maintenance. Staff was rarely present. Breakfast was listed at 630am and a staff member finally came in at 730am. Rotten apples were on the counter. Coffee pots were dirty. Stale bread was on the counter from the previous day. I paid minimal and got less than I paid for….
